I have a friend who has a mortgage PPI policy and has only worked 5 hours per week for a number of years. Does this exclude them from the policy?
As 5 is less than 16 then it would make it no longer suitable.
However, it does not make it mis-sold unless the friend was doing 5 hours at point of sale. Most insurers will consider refunding if evidence can be provided that verifies the date that ineligibility started.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi Thanks very much for the reply.
they phoned the company about this and they said that as it is a joint policy they could change the amount of cover to 95% and 5% in her husbands favour?0 -
Morning guys, new to this so apologies if I upset anyone. I think I've had PPI with lenders who I am on an agreed payment plan with, would it be foolish to try and get a PPI reclaim when I still owe them money? Thanks in advance.0

You can complain but any redress will go first towards amounts owing. Since this may reduce your debt, it's not a bad idea.
DO NOT use a company to do this.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

I have quite a few loans that I took out with lloyds which included ppi which I didn't know I had until going through the SAR information. I'm back online so finally attempting to put my complaint in but one of the loans was closed early. It was a £2K loan over 5 years which I paid off after 18 months when I was made redundant. I paid this off using the redundancy money. The settlement figure was more than the amount I borrowed and at the time I thought I'd saved myself a lot of interest paying it early
I also received a rebate of £110 which I assumed was interest that I had overpaid on the last months payment. I now believe this to be in relation to the PPI! My question is can I complain about the amount I paid in the 18 months I had the loan? Especially as I was employed by the company who made me redundant and paid me redundancy which I used to pay the loan off.

I took out finance for a car in 1997 which included PPI. I kept the car until the final payment was made and then sold it on. I cleared out my paper work around 2007 so no longer have the details of the financier or the agreement number. Only the company i purchased the car from Trust Motor Glasgow (Cumbernauld road). I thought 1997 was too old to make a claim for PPI but have now been told i could still make a claim. Is there any way I can find out any information for this credit agreement? I asked my bank (as payments were made by direct debit) but they said they didnt hold on to details going back that far. It does'nt help that TRUST motors no longer exist so i really need help finding out the financier.0

You can complain but your complaint is to the car dealer. Not the finance company. However, be aware that most car dealers were not regulated until Jan 2005. Tied dealerships often do see the tied finance company responsible but you should go to the car dealer first.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The car dealership as a different owner now so think i have little change. I contacted one of the claim back firms and they said they could help if i had an agreement number or new the finance company but no such luck :-(0
