I put a claim in to Santander for ppi this was the response they cannot trace any paymentcare attached to the mortage and are unable to confirm that i was sold a paymentcare policy. And if i supply the evidence to show i have been paying paymentcare premiums towards a mortage sold by santander they will gladly review my decision. problem is i have no paperwork now to prove i had it and they know this plus i wasnt sure if i had ppi on that and 2 loans i had in the past . Help what can i do now?

if they have no evidence it existed and you dont then its game over. If you dont believe them you can spend £10 and do a data subject access request. Although as most MPPi complaints fail, it could end up being £10 wasted as even if you do find some record of it, you would then have to show it was missold. Easy with loan PPI but not so much with MPPI.

  • Hi, can anyone advise?
I am in the middle of processing a PPI claim, a mortgage account we were clearly mis sold.
At the time of the mortgage both my husband and I had savings (kid free and both had really good jobs), and I had insurance via work.
Nationwide have sent me a letter asking me details such as how much savings, and details of the insurance policy. I have no record or any idea as this was back in 2001, so have no bank statements of even employment details to show any of this?
Can anyone advise what to do?
    Thanks very much

They are within their right to ask you to support any allegations you make. You can ask you employer at the time to verify the information in writing and you can ask the bank you were with back then to supply a statement from that period.

  • I've just been awarded a refund from MBNA - Hurray!!

However, the letter states that they include interest for occasions where not making a PPI payments would have left my balance in credit, which leaves me wondering whether I should be compensated for instances where paying PPI took me above my credit limit and I was therefore fined by MBNA each time?

You cannot claim for charges (not "fines") levied when you exceeded your credit limit.

PPI payments didn't cause you to exceed your credit limit, you did.

    Hi,

I have a quick question. I am trying to anticipate what refund I might receive from Barclaycard. I had the card from 1997 to 2010. PPi was applied to each statement, but to be honest the card was never in a situation where it had a credit balance (well maybe a handful of times) I am just wondering how to calculate if any interest and what interest will be due on the refund of premiums?? I've read that some people had compound interest added even though they only ever paid the miminum payment, so I am confused. any help would be great. Thanks
  • Hi guys,
I'm wondering if you can help. I've been trying to find out where I can get my FULL credit history report.
I've been looking at these credit history sites (experian.co.uk etc etc) but the problem is they only go back 6 years.
I'm wondering if there's a way of getting your full report from the day you took out your first loan/credit card.
Mine dates back to 1996 and can't find any site that can help me.
I would really really appreciate it if you guys can help me on this.

    Thank you

You can send Subject Access Request (SAR) letters to all your old lenders, but even this will likely only yield results from the last six years. Only if you've stayed with the same Bank for the period (and remain so) are you likely to get more.

Why do you want details from 1996?
  • I have had several loans and credit cards over the years particularly in the 1990s and know that PPI was included on some of them. Unfortunately I did not keep records or details and have no paperwork at all. I am forever being called by PPI reclaim companies - is there any point in trying to reclaim PPI without any records?

    Not from the 1990's.
Banks typically keep records going back six years. You can send Subject Access Request (SAR) letters to each of your old lenders to see what's left, but generally speaking you'd require comprehensive documentary evidence from your own archive to make any headway.

Do also be aware that, even if you can provide proof, it is not somehow wrong to have insurance. In order for it to be refunded it must have been mis-sold to you.
