Go and see them; they don't bite!:)
  • My bank (RBS) have advised me that "the card agreement has been misfiled and despite searching our records we have been unable to locate it".

This being the case, how do I pursue an enquiry as to whether I was missold PPI?
  • Is Payment protection cover (income protection) the same as ppi?
  • Does a SAR cover both PPI and credit card/late payment charges?
  • Can you reclaim PPI if you were sold it with a pension? Feel like an idiot for taking it out now I understand things a bit better.
Also they increased the cost in the second year and didn't inform me and wouldn't let me cancel until the end of the year.

No. There is not a pension plan in the UK that has PPI on it.

The only bolt ons for pensions were pension term assurance or waiver of contribution.

I had a store loan from GE Capital taken out in November 2002 that ended November 2006 that has PPI insurance added. I found the paperwork last year, I am self employed and i noticed the terms state that i would not be covered for unemployment unless i was declared bankrupt. The insurance was sold to me even though i pointed out at the time i was self employed. This eeems unfair since a person in full employment would be covered for losing their job, yet i wouldnt.

GE have been taken over by CDM so i wrote to them in April 2011 but didnt get a reply. I wrote again in June this year and received a reply last week from Santander, saying that they do not have a record of my loan. Since the loan finished less than 6 years ago should they have kept records?

Is there anything i can do?
    thanks.
  • We had a mortgage with Nottingham BS and were sold some insurance with it. Vaguely remember them saying we had to have it to get the mortgage, we were first time buyers (this is back in 1992). It was cover for illness and unemployment type thing. we paid it for many years then we remortgaged elsewhere and I cancelled the insurance. I have no paperwork for it. Can work out roughly when it started but can't remember when cancelled it. Can I try and make a claim?

Compulsory insurance in 1992 was very common.

You can complain about whatever you like. However, it doesnt mean you will be successful. You havent mentioned what your complaint reasons are so we cannot comment much until you do.
