Hi I'm a first time poster on here..

I currently have ppi missing claims in with northern rock and egg/barclaycard still awaiting a response from nram who acknowledged my claim end of January. Egg/barclaycard gave me a resolution date of 19th March as the date had passed I rang them to be told they'd just sent me a letter asking for more time but that I can take it to the FOS if I want, bloke on the phone said I'm better of giving them a few more weeks for the outcome, think this will be what I'll do.

I've recently sent of a claim for hubbies capitol one credit card this is a different story, he's had the card since 2003 didn't tick the box for ppi due to being self employed. I was checking his online statements a few weeks ago when low and behold noticed ppi payments of £14 per month on a £1,600 balance horrified as we knew he definitely had not requested this, we tried to think how it could have been added, we both distinctively remember when he rang up to register his card the salesman asked if he wanted insurance that would cover all the cards in the house if they were lost/stolen for £5 per month, we received a form to fill in all the card numbers in the house and we're definitely paying a fiver a month for it, but at some point this has disappeared of his statements with ppi in its place :mad has anyone else heard of this? Anyway sent of template letter and questionnaire 2 weeks ago recorded delivery, hadn't had an acknowledgment so sent a message asking could they confirm reception of my complaint, to which they've replied they haven't received it,I've told them it was signed for 2 weeks ago and gave the name of who signed for it but they insist they haven't got it :mad do you think this is a stalling tactic? I don't know what to do now whether to resend it, or complain that I know they have it because it's been signed for, any advice will be greatfully received.

Hi Cal and welcome, as you've probably guessed nothing is beneath the scope of the lenders this one especially, give them another call as you will in any case need either a final response from capital 1 or a delay of 8 weeks to be able to register a case with the fos, although the fos is going to take a while now to resolve this because of the sheer volume of complaints there receiving now.

You are correct in everything, but when you cancelled the ppi after the rebate they gave you, the rest of the ppi is still on the loan with the interest associated with this, so when you calculated the balance after the ppi is taken off you will see what they have done, hopefully when they get you the ppi taken off the loan it will all make sense.
Bet you and your sis will be glad when this is done with? :) they have put her through it

But surely when the PPI has earnt £340 in in interest over 3 and half years, after its cancellation it should only be earning what, £100 max over the last year? Sorry Amersall but I'm stuck here. Had the loan and the PPI run for the full 60 months, the repayment figure would have been £15,669.60. The PPI was cancelled in April 2011 as I've explained, yet despite telling us that the cancellation of the PPI would enable the loan to be repaid in a shorter space of time, if their calculations are enforced it will mean that we have paid £15,721.37, even though the PPI was cancelled almost 18 months before the end of the loan period.

Just found my policy the loan term was actually 84 months, Loan amount was £45,000 PPI £8,968.50 monthly payment £807.48 apr 6.9%. Loan was taken out June 2007 so I have just over another 2 years left. If I leave the PPI I can claim 100% back in June because 60 months will have finished. I am scared and really dont know what to do. Im afraid ill get nothing with the mis sold route and end up not getting my PPI back at the end of 60 months. I hope this makes sense any help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand what you are saying, go for the cash back and then put the mis sell in after.

When you go for mis sell later, and win by the way, they will offer you 3 choices of redress, you must take the offer that resets the loan and takes the ppi off the balance, this is a must, the other 2 options will leave the ppi on the loan with interest to term end and on one option your monthly payment will go back up.

I said to go mis sell as you said next November you get the cash back, as this is not the case and it is 2 months away then take it now.
