PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Thanks for your replies - it reinforces my initial beliefs in that I've never had it in the first place and so will not bother going down this route.
Given my due diligence I would have picked it up in the original contracts (I even read the annual house and car insurance T&Cs with every renewal), hence why the paperwork gets destroyed after 6 months of completion.
It's just the more I read I started to wonder. If I'd have had any solid grounds upon which to act i would have surely done something before now, rather than wait several years.
thanks for your help0 -
Hi guys,
I'm helping my sister claim back PPI. She was sent a PPI questionnaire by Natwest about the 7(!) loans that she took out with them between 2001 and 2005. I've helped her fill it all out and send it off. They've now sent back a FOS questinnaire which they say that if they don't receive it back within 2 weeks they will just use the info they currently have to assess her claim. Reading through the FOS questionnaire, there's not any more information to add to what we put in the original Natwest form. Is there any point in filling this form in? Will it add any more weight to her claim? Have people had success in their claim without it?
Thanks muchly!!0 -

Yes they would have. However, other people's issues may not be the same of yours. If the FOS form does not result in any new information being supplied then dont worry about it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). It's also a reason stated by FCA as to why you may have been mis-sold:
''Some reasons why you may have been mis-sold PPI include....the policy was added to your loan without your knowledge''

But hey why let facts get in the way of a good myth eh?0 -

The problem is more that its an unprovable allegation in most cases. It is unlikely many complaints would be upheld on that basis. Although I suspect many complaints do include it as a reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I need some help/advice?
I had car finance about 9/10 years ago which we paid off In full years ago but now after seeing adverts for claiming ppi on car finance,we are interested in doing this but the only problem is we have no idea who the finance was provided by. We got the car from Car Craft but that's as much as I can remember.
Is there a way of finding out after all this time?0 -

Maybe but the point is that calling it a 'myth', as you are guilty of too, is in itself a myth.0 -

The fact is that in the case of credit card PPI, the policy appears on the monthly statements and in the case of mortgage PPI it almost always appears as a separate direct debit on bank statements easch month.
As you say, though, in the end it is an allegation that is very difficult to prove.0 -
I have been a business owner/ self employed since year 2000 and between 2002 and 2005 I took out 3 loans with Halifax ( All paid in FULL 2014) which I have recently noticed had PPI on each one to the tune of £5K on each loan
As I wasn't employed by anyone and was a business owner , do I have a claim on PPI being mis sold
I was told at time it would be better to take as it would increase chances of getting loan accepted0
