PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi DunstonH,
Sorry for garbled message but I only posed the question when on the phone. The complaint form then came through the post. On it, it states that if I was not working, i must provide proof via a p60 for the period of 'sale'. So...I have kind of put it on the back burner for weeks as assumed I would be hitting a brick wall. So should I go into the bank and ask them for past dated bank statements? Are they likely to keep them from that long ago?
I wouldnt have contract of employment, for the teaching as I only qualified for that in 2009/10 and 2 years before that as a teaching assistant. BUT thought it was worth noting that even according to their records on the ppi annual review letters, it has my occupation still listed as unemployed. Now that has changed and despite me having sickness cover through my work for illness, could that change anything in terms of 'liability'?
thanks for your advice
kindest

Hi,
Hope someone could give some advice, we have PPI on our mortgage since we took it out 18 years ago which covered redundancy, illness etc.
Unfortunately my wife was made redundant so we made a claim today through Halifax only to be told she must apply for 3 jobs a week, join the dole office and start claiming benefit.
My wife tried to explain she cannot apply for 3 jobs a week as she worked within the NHS management structure and the jobs are only advertised through the NHS. None of this was explained when we took it out or when we have had mortgage reviews.
Thank you in advance0 -

Nothing there that would be considered onerous. My wife tried to explain she cannot apply for 3 jobs a week as she worked within the NHS management structure and the jobs are only advertised through the NHS. None of this was explained when we took it out or when we have had mortgage reviews.
There is no expectation of you being required to be told absolutely everything about everything. There are required key points that are mandatory to be disclosed and claims process is not one of them.
Your wife can apply for jobs outside of the NHS to make up the three.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hi
I have several old accounts that I opened in the late 90's and early 2000's that I do not know the details for that I want to claim against. A loan and two credit cards from the Halifax and two credit cards that were with Egg who I believe were bought by Barclays. Do I now claim for those through Barclays? What do I do about not knowing the account numbers? My current address would have been on all of the accounts.
I want to do this all myself and not use a claims company.
I also had a joint mortgage from 2001 to 2007 with an ex partner who I am no longer in contact with (nor do I want to be in contact with) with Bank of Scotland. Would I be able to make a claim for my share?
Thanks0 -
Hi, I received info from RBS saying that my husband had 2 loans, it provided full details for one but only a policy number for the second. We can find any paperwork for it. I had heard in the past that in such cases, the bank would offer an ex gratia amount of, say, £500? Do they still do this?0

They never did that in the past. The redress method is defined and based on the available evidence. As they have found the loans, there is nothing for them to estimate.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. hi all,
I am trying to find out if I had ppi on a loan I had in 2004, it was with AA personal loans. I have sent a letter to bank of Scotland(address from aa loans page) asking for this info, they say they cannot find any details about me, my problem is that I no longer have any of the loan paperwork as backup, what should be my next step ??
many thanks

Hi,
Just wanted to say thank you to MSE. I followed the MSE guide and have received a PPI payout of £3K from HSBC for products sold to me back in 2000-2003. Initially, I thought I had no chance of success as I had no paperwork. The guide works!0 -
Hi hsbc just said that my Ppi claim is under investigation and there is no time limit for them to reply. Is this correct??? Thought they had 8 weeks??? Letter received with them 20/11/2015. Thanks0
