If the account is still active you need to write to MBNA and ask for the T&C's for your account if you've not got them and you need to send a £1 cheque to cover their costs

(Scroll down for template letter on this page if not got documents - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance?utm_source=forum&utm_medium=clicks&utm_campaign=resourcebar)

If the account is closed you need to send a SAR (Subject Acccess Request) letter to them and they have to return your info within 40 days - this requires a £10 covering cheque

(Template letter for SAR - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553)

    Their address is:

    Customer Advocate Office
    MBNA Europe Bank Limited
    PO Box 1004
    Chester Business Park
    Chester
    CH4 9WW

Oh and ALWAYS photocopy everything you are sending and ALWAYS send your letters by Recorded Delivery!!

One more tip.....put "cc Financial Ombudsman Service" on the bottom of your letters!!!
Thanks again for all your time on this. Me thinks it might be worth a go, they can only say no cant they.;)

Did they say you took the ppi out in 2001 or was it 2001 that you opened the account?.
Do as Cappo says and send it to FOS.

Thanks amersall, of course im only sending copies, lol xx hopefully this will help, the only problem i have with the sickness scheme forms is that i have shredded some of the early paperwork, i have some from 2005, but i started it well before that, i have a introduction letter dated around 2003, do u think that will be ok, i have some that i have shredded and some that i havent, what this company does, is just send the renewal ones each year, sorry for it being long winded, but i could put a covering letter explaining that i tend to shredd everything, well my husband does!!!

    Toni

:D Just put the complaint in with the reasons for mis sell, if they need proof then send copies of what you have and tell them you do not keep everyone.

    Hi all,

Newbie here and looking for anyone with experience dealing with the Halifax. I submitted my PPI claim in May 2011 (yes that's right...), received a settlement letter for just over £3K in October, accepted, and am still waiting for the money after 26 weeks! Are others dealing with the Halifax experiencing such waiting times? Everytime I call, their useless customer service people tell me the same thing "its with the redress team and you can't speak with them". No one can tell me anything and they don't sound like they care either!

Phone the complaints number and put a new complaint in about the length of time this is taking, then ring FOS and put the same complaint into them.

If everyone did this then they would have to jump.

    Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before - it's a LOOOOONNNG thread - but can anyone tell me if you can claim PPI on insurance such as contents or car insurance? Have found reference to PPI on two policies that I definitely wasn't told about when I took out the policy.

I'm assuming that by paying monthly you are effectively loaning the money for the full policy from them, which you pay back on your monthly deal.

    Thanks.
I have never heard of ppi on contents or car insurance, do you have the exact wording for this ppi?.

  • i am sorry if i am posting this in the wrong place but i am new and this is my first time trying to post. i sent a letter asking for my terms and conditions to yorkshire bank for a ppi that actually began back in 1993, but the most recent loan was taken out in july 2002 and finnished around 2006. i received two letters from the bank both written on same day one saying they needed more time to look at my complaint as it was taking longer than anticipated. the second letter says due to time elapsed they are unable to investigate my loans further, but if i have agreement numbers they can look into it further but that this is their final respnse in relation to my complaint. any advice would be greatly received do you think i have left it too late to apply and should i just give up many thanks

Hi Poppy sorry to hear your having this trouble with them, I don't think you'll get anywhere by the sound of it unless you sar them which should show up an agreement number, or send off for a trial month of your credit report this might also show your agreement numbers, see the sar info below
