Just recieved an offer for my prefernce account ppi :jv happy but on the letter they have refunded premiums of £878 plus 8% interest too 12th April at £155. There is no mention of refund of interest on the payment though?? on my loan from bank of scotland they gave me premiums plus interest plus the 8% interest. Anyone know why they haven't given it back on this? the perference account was basically a type of credit card i think.
On the BOS loan the interest and the ppi is in with the monthly payment, they just show this separately.0 -

Hi sean i agree with mark, ultimately it's up to you but as he says it'll only payout for a year anyway.
Thanks guys,
I'm a little confused though, sorry I've not done an awful lot of research yet! Why will it only pay out for a year? I've had the loan, and been paying PPI for over 2 years now. Will it not be backdated to loan start date, and all money paid in PPI be refunded?0 -
After receiving an offer from LloydsTSB which was an average settlement because the bank apparantly has no evidence that a loan was taken out with them. It was back in 1998 and I sent all details on statements to show insurance premium amount, loan amount, interest rate, all on statements. They offered 1200, plus interest amounting to 1700 total. I declined the offer because I paid alot more considering interest on the insurance premium, which totals over 3500. I sent further info to them to support the evidence that I did have a 10,000 loan and showed the full starting premium insurance amount which was 2026 on top. They have now sent another letter stating I never took out ppi with them and have no evidence even though it's in black and white on the statement. They also state that they are closing the complaint unless I can provide further information that I took out a loan with them. The letter took 7 days to reach me and I have only 3 days to contact them otherwise my complaint is closed. I don't believe the situation is being dealt with fairly at all and after last time on the phone with them, I feel I will be knocked back again. Does anyone know if I can find this info going back 12 years. I have always had a good credit rating and wondered if a report would show the loan was taken out and insurance paid.
You will have to Sar them and hope you get the info you need but you will then have to take the complaint to FOS as Lloyds will close the claim because they have 40 days to get you this info.
They will need the agreement for proof to give you full redress, a credit report will be no good either due to the timescale.

Don't forget to enclose £10.
When was the loan taken out, over what term and did you settle this early?, as this will determine what redress you should get.0 -

Hi All,
This is my first time on here..
I had a natwest loan which I am still paying for as I went into financial difficulty.
The loan total was £8.490, I sent a letter in regarding the PPI and they have offered me about £2.400, my remaining balance is £2.828, they have not accepted liability and offered this as a good will gesture do I respond and ask them to clear the debt also how do I respond I cant a letter on here for responding to PPI claims.
Thanks all0 -
As above guys. I'm in the Armed Forces, and its possible I may be medically discharged in a few months time. I have been mis-sold PPI, as I actually turned it down when asked on my Bank Loan. I'm glad I do have it now though! Although I obviously still have a case, if I make the claim will it negate the cover should I lose my job in future?
Obviously I don't want to make a claim, and then need PPI in a few months time when I cannot afford to make repayments!
Thanks in advance.
How much was the original ppi and when does this end?.
You need to find out what they will pay and for how long for when you are dishcharged, it may be you will be better off keeping this ppi, on the other hand if you can only claim for say 12 months, then what happens after this?.
If you win redress the total ppi and interest is taken off the loan balance, this will mean your monthly payment goes down by the monthly ppi amount, is it possible that the redress would clear the remaining balance of the loan?.0 -
Hi,
What are people's experience with Barclaycard ? I sent a letter asking for a copy of my original agreement and got a letter back saying they are looking into it but that was about 6 weeks ago !!!
I wrote in the original letter that they should sent me it within two weeks (as per Martin's template), but they seem to have ignored that part.
Have other poeple experienced delays with Barclaycard ?
A copy of the card agreement may do you no good as ppi may have been put on at a later date , is this card closed?.0 -
Hi again, ive got claims going through with both lloyds and nationwide, can you tell me, i have independent sickness cover, plus i get the usual 6 months and 3 months half pay at work, also i noticed i have accident death plan. I m going to send off my independent forms, just to show proof, but would it help me sending the other accidental death plan proof too, or does that make no difference, i not too sure

Thanks amersall, of course im only sending copies, lol xx hopefully this will help, the only problem i have with the sickness scheme forms is that i have shredded some of the early paperwork, i have some from 2005, but i started it well before that, i have a introduction letter dated around 2003, do u think that will be ok, i have some that i have shredded and some that i havent, what this company does, is just send the renewal ones each year, sorry for it being long winded, but i could put a covering letter explaining that i tend to shredd everything, well my husband does!!!
