PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Question is twofold;
1) Is it likely that a second ombudsman will overrule the first? If so, I am a little annoyed to wait for c 6 months for an incorrect decision
2) is there anything I can do to expedite the process? I have read on here about numerous people receiving settlement within a matter of weeks. Should I have complained to RBS first as opposed to going straight to FO. Should I now call RBS and see what they say? It is frustrating as (whilst I appreciate FO are very busy) they seem to have little power to be able to make the bank act in a decent timeframe.
Any advice would be much appreciated....
1 - no idea
2 - well, I'm surprised the FOS took it on before you'd actually complained to the firm, but now, there's nothing you can do but wait.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

I assume the OP thinks she has gone straight to the Ombudsman, but FOS has simply forwarded the complaint to RBS?
The whole thing sounds very confused.
As to whether the Ombudsman will overturn the adjudicator's initial decision, that's not something anyone here can predict either way.0 -

Not if she has had correspondence that they originally upheld her complaint.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Hello people! Looking for some help and advice regarding my husbands ppi claim which I'm sorting for him. I decided to take the advice of people on here and send off letters myself and not using a claims company. I've heard back from RBS today who have sent copies of my husbands application with the option for ppi ticked. He absolutely disputes he didn't tick it! They haven't quoted that this is there final letter but that if we have any further additional evidence he would be parsed to review it. It was a postal application. I don't know what to do now? Any help would be really good as we have a large overdraft I'd like to clear ASAP! He was paying £40 a month ppi from 2007 to 2010. Thanks guys x0

What evidence do you have to say that someone at the bank committed fraud by ticking the box without permission. Your allegation is not so much mis-sale but a fraud allegation which is much more serious.
When your husband was sent the consumer credit act agreement to sign and the amounts of the loan and PPI payable, why did he not query it then?
Your allegation is a difficult one as it hinges on an allegation of fraud being confirmed rather than mis-sale.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I was contacted by Aims Review in January 2013 reference to reclaiming PPI with the assurance if there was no reclaims established I would get my full £300 pounds back. In February/March after realizing this was unsuccessful I requested my refund only to be told it would be refunded by 14 December 2013. I have left numerous messages on their answer phone and sent out numerous emails all of which I have.The £300 pounds was paid with a credit card in two installment, with instructions to contact me when collecting the 2nd installment of £150 this failed to happen, which leaves me to contact my credit card companies as I notice the are using the logos of Visa and MasterCard and they operate under the Ministry of Justice regulations. I have come across numerous people who are going through the same situation. Look forward to any help you may have experienced with this company.
Many thanks

Hi, I took out a nectar American Express card in 2005 and closed it in 2009. I can't remember but I think I had some sort of ppi and would like to know, can anyone help or advise me on what to do, as I'm not the best in this area.0

Even if you did have PPI, remember it needs to have been mis-sold to you in order for it to be refunded;
