PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

From some of the stories I hear, they seem to have a funny process where if the loan is so old that their records can't confirm whether you had PPI with it or not they will offer you a standard amount without any further ado. If I was less honest I'd probably send a complaint in myself with completely made up account details and see what I could get out of them!!
Yes it was LloydsTSB (as they were then), funny thing is a couple of weeks after the cheque arrived another one turned up for the same amount, my wife paid it in not realising that I'd already paid in the first one, she just assumed I'd forgotten to do it. The money appeared in the account, but then it disappeared after a couple of days and I got a letter explaining it was a mistake, damn!"I ache, therefore I Am."0 -
Hi
I applied for a £10,000 loan from Northern Rock over 8 years ago and they told me because the loan was £10,000 I had to have PPI insurance. I asked how much it was and they offered a silly price so I said I'll have to get from elsewhere.
Can I claim against Northern Rock for making me take out insurance elsewhere because they said I had to in order to have the loan?
Thanks0 -

You have to prove you can complain on his behalf, so you'll have to give them what they're asking for.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Can somebody advise me please. Had several loans through Lloyds TSB several years ago. I have used the banks relevant forms, submitted an application and have now been offered an amount on a couple of the loans. Whilst this is good, I am dissapointed as to why they have refused the others. They have categorically lied on our joint application. They have given the reason of having attempted to contact us and been unsuccessful, they have made the decision on the basis of what info they had. They have contacted me twice, on my mobile number supplied to them, and asked for my wifes contact number. This has duly been given to them again. They have spoken to my wife and she has gone through details with them, however they have never asked to speak to me or ask any questions. Having now spoken with them, they are highly resistant in explaining why they have stated that they cannot contact us nor why some of the claims have not been upheld. Can somebody tell me what the next step is? and If I accept the amount offered, does that affect the other claims?0

Do you have more info regarding these loans, I would send them all you have and ask them to look at these again.
If they have not provided in writing the reasons they have not upheld some, contact FOS, explain you have no written rejection and the bank will not provide these, it is possible that you will receive the rejection letters shortly.
Were all these loans consolidations of the previous loan?.
What info did you have for all of these loans and reasons for mis sell?.
Have they included all loans on the one rejection letter with the upholds?.
You can accept the redress for the 2 loans and go forward with the rejections, they should have the loan numbers and the redress figures for you to sign for in the letter(s).0 -
Hi there I am new here and after a bit of advice. I have just claimed back ppi on 2 loans with llyoyds. Both loans are on a dmp with stepchange, am I right in thinking the remaining balances should both get reduced now that the policy has been cancelled and repaid as the balances on my dmp is with the policy hope this makes sense.0

I sent off all the forms to HSBC for my partner trying to reclaim PPI on 4 cards, loans etc.
He received a call saying that they want more details, times etc etc.
When taking out the cards/loans, he was told that PPI was compulsory!
Is it normal for HSBC to call to discuss? What should he say?
So grateful for advice as always xxTotal Quidco earnings - £547.98

I am sure that this question has been asked before but I have spent too many hours reading through the threads looking for the answer.
My printer is pretty ropy and I have 17 claims - yes, that many!
I would be grateful for any hints on alternate ways to contact credit card and mortgage providers.
Many thanks.0
