Hi everyone
Sorry im new to all this forum malarky lol
just wanted some advice really, ive received a letter from Deloitte today regarding a claim for misold ppi against picture,
the letter states that the initial reviews have been completed and that my claim has now been passed on to the data gathering team.
Does this mean my claim is going ahead and if so does anyone know what the payout would be as ive heard that it could be 90% with no interest or all of it with interest im soo confused lol
my ppi was a total of £3025 and has been paid of as was only 5 year protection, which we didnt know and also now deloittes have been in touch how long could the process take
many thanks for the help
FSCS give 100% of the first £2000 and 90% of the remaining PPI, there is no interest payment or the 8%.0 -
Hi,
Details are sketchy at the moment but wondered if anyone can help us on the following:
My father-in-law who has MS bought a pair of shoes through the Premier Man catalogue about 8 years ago. Unfortunately he paid for them weekly - it was for our wedding so he never told us - and he just paid the minimum amount off, so was charged huge amounts of interest over a number of years.
He told me today he was also paying £2 a week 'PPI' and I was wondering if we can claim this back?
Two points, 1 he would never have been able to claim it as he is on incapacity benefit and 2 I am sure he wouldn't have knowingly signed up for a £2 a week insurance cost for a pair of shoes!
I have asked him to dig out the paperwork and as he is a bit disorganised this will take him about a week but in the meantime does anyone think this is an issue we can tackle or are catalogue companies exempt from the PPI claims that have been so well publisced on the MSE website (and other media of course):money:
Any advice is much appreciated
8 years is a long time so you may have trouble with this.
When you get the paperwork give the catalogue a call and tell them the reasons for mis sell you put above and see what they come back with.0 -
Hi All I wonder if anyone can help me I have just come across some paperwork that we had from Legal and General which says it is mortgage payment insurance in the event of unemployment is this the same as PPI. I know at the time we were told that we had to have the mortgage payments covered and so we had to take out this insurance is this a mis sold policy ??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.0

This is a good idea, but it will cost a fortune due to the time that has elapsed, the best bet is for Paddy to try and get the statement that shows the loan money being credited to the account and the last years statements to show the loan repaid, this should be evidence enough for HFC, if not then I would take it to FOS.
After a couple of hours searching I managed to track down my missing bank statements and now have evidence of all payments made to HFC - I have sent off copies so lets hope for the best....0 -

Hi all,
I've just received a final response from the Ulster bank re ppi on two loans from approx ten years ago. Offer of approx £6100. Very pleased......loan was with an ex partner......who at present I have been unable to contact as she resides outside the UK. I asked the Ulster bank to give me my half but they refuse to do so without her signature! Financial Ombudsman were pretty useless when I spoke with them. Can anyone make a suggestion?0 -

Hi, I'll appologise in advance but I'm a newbie.
Over the last 14 years I've held credit cards, loans, mortgage payments etc with various companies as I will admit in my youth I did take out many cards/loans, basically anything the banks through at me and thought I would look into PPI's and surprise surprise I've been paying them on various accounts. I've decided to tackle one company at a time and so my first victim is my bank, Lloyds TSB.
I called them yesterday and they've advised me of £3326.40 of PPI on my old mortgage, £1613.73 on an loan closed in 2007 and I've still got to call the credit card department as I know I've held PPI on my Lloyds credit card which is still active but their records do confirm I did stop the PPI in Jan 2009.
Now, I do still currently hold my bank account with Lloyds and they have given me a Customer Complaints phone number and my question is as they are my bank and can see all the details etc do I just call & log the complaint over the phone or do I have to send in a paper claim? Also do I need to do a sperate application for a) mortgage, b) loan, 3) credit card?
Thanks in advance0
