PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

I wonder if you can help me....I believe I was genuinely miss-sold PPI on my mortgage which was in place from 1999 to 2010. I honestly didn't know I had PPI until I checked with my bank - the Halifax. They have rejected my claim twice as apparently I signed a form agreeing to PPI being applied to my mortgage and that they abided by the rules and regulations at the time.
I want to appeal to them again before I go to the ombudsman but feel my letters do not carry much weight.
If I had PPI and didnt know I had it, nor did I want it, but the halifax believe they sold it to me according to their policies do I have a case against them?0 -

The Bank have not rejected twice, all they have done is write back to confirm their original decision.
You have no right of "appeal" with the Bank.
Now that you have received a "full and final" response (twice!), the next stage of your complaint is to refer it to the Ombudsman;

Oh what to do...?!? I know I had PPI with my Egg card, but i no longer have the paperwork and I can't remember when I took the card out. I have written to egg for my details, which as I have moved house and got married and now have a new surname they said they are unable to give me this information and I was to send in a certified copy of my marriage certificate and proof of address before they would give me my t's and c's. I did this weeks ago with my little £1 cheque and have heard nothing. I'm now wondering if i should use a claims handler as its doesn't seem as straight forward as I'd hoped, but looking at which company I'm better to use seems to be a minefield in itself.... any advice? :-(0

Just write to them again with the telling them you've sent the info, send copies of what you've already sent & wait, a claims company will only ask you to provide exactly what egg have asked for & take there hefty fee of course.......0 -
Hi there - don't know what to do apart from wait but any suggestions appreciated.
Complained back in march re: credit card ppi I've had a card since 2001 - a very small redress was offered within 7 weeks - this turned out to be only calculated from 2008 when my card changed to a Duo card (MasterCard and Amex for same account ) apparently I cancelled the ppi shortly after they were issued - fair enough. I was told I'd have to make a second complaint regarding the period 2001-2008, so after requesting a written copy of all card numbers I paid ppi on I lodged a 2nd complaint on 14/05/12 which 3 weeks later after no receipt of confirmation letter turns out complaint wasn't logged!!
So 3rd time lucky my complaint was logged on 11th June - again No conf letter but after a phone call I was told the ref number. At 8 weeks gone I called to be told that the complaint had been closed but no action notes recorded which the advisor said was unusual - he emailed 'the management team' and said to call them in 2 weeks which I did. I was then told (overseas call centre) that I just had to wait. I have now waited a further 6 weeks from that call to be told once again that my complaint is with the aftercare team and to WAIT. A total of 15 weeks since start of complaint has now passed with no correspondence from them I have asked them to re-email to team however the sullen attitude of the overseas advisor tells me she won't bother so I will be checking again tomorrow that this was done. Just feel I'm being totally fobbed off now. Does anyone have numbers or emails for uk based centres as I'm sure the overseas ones are designed to frustrate!
Sorry for long rant it's just getting ridik now! Grrrrrrr0 -
I was contacted a while ago by my loan company and offered a refund on PPI from a loan sold to me about 5 yrs ago that I am still paying back. They sent the refund of around £120 I think it was. People I know have received a lot more than this in compensation - I assume once I've accepted this money I can no longer claim anything but thought I'd best check! Many thanks
This is not enough back if you have been paying this loan for 5 years and it is still running, are you in arrears with this loan, have you made a claim on the PPI or was the PPI cancelled at any point?.
Can you post up the original PPI amount for this loan and the term? then I can help you more.0 -

Give them a call and ask them to send you an acknowledgement of the complaint and what stage it is at or you will contact FOS as they should have responded to you by now, I would give FOS a call anyway and let them know that Lloyds are not keeping you informed at all, lodge a complaint if you have to.0 -

They made us an offer which we accepted last week, we've had a payment from them into our account but it's only for the ppi premium not the net interest - does anyone know if they pay the two amounts separately?0
