I don't think I ticked the box. However it is ticked, can I prove it?
I was young, naive and never questionned it but I would never have taken it out, how do you prove it?
    You can't prove it.
You can ask the Bank to investigate the possibility, I suppose.
    Weak complaint, I'm afraid.

We got into debt & had a DMP with CCCS.
The loan company was then taken over by citi financial & we paid the DMP off in 2008. My husband had a few jobs but them became ill in 2005 & he died in 2010.
I've read on here that I can claim even if the ppi was in my husbands name, which I think it was, even though I was also working.

Also be aware that if any monies were written off your debt, if your complaint is successful, they can offset any redress against any money that was written off in the DMP.

After a couple of hours searching I managed to track down my missing bank statements and now have evidence of all payments made to HFC - I have sent off copies so lets hope for the best....

Brill, update when you have an answer.
  • Please help.

used a claim company called investors compensation claims ltd for PPI claim from Barclays in Feb 2012. 2 letters were received from barclays to say there was no ppi and there was ppi along with acceptance form which was signed and returned to both barclays and investors company. The claims company then forwarded the form to barclays and invoiced me in March. However, I have not received my payment from barclays a i write and they are still claiming there there was no PPI on the acct.
I then forwarded a statement to both barclays and the claims company showing PPI and I also informed the claims company that I will not pay their fees until I receive payment from barclays and they need to complete their job by contacting barclays.

They have completely ignored my letter and continue to chase their fee by sending threatening letters and phone calls at unreasonable hours.

Can anyone please advise on what to do?

Hi All I wonder if anyone can help me I have just come across some paperwork that we had from Legal and General which says it is mortgage payment insurance in the event of unemployment is this the same as PPI. I know at the time we were told that we had to have the mortgage payments covered and so we had to take out this insurance is this a mis sold policy ??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Please can someone answer me

  • Hi Everyone! i just wondered If there was any point in me trying to reclaim PPI's? i took my loan and credit cards out well over 10 years ago and don't have any contracts and they have all been paid off now. I have however found a few old Bank statements and credit card statements. Have I got any chance or have I missed the bus?

    thanks.

So any complaint you refer to FOS would go on the balance of probabilities.
Not a forgone conclusion. Your choice.
  • Hi guys,

Any help with this one would be really appreciated!

I was sold a Nationwide mortgage with PPI by HPS Financial Services (physically located within a Halifax Estate Agent). They also mis-sold me an endowment policy to go with it (which Standard Life have already compensated me for as HPS were acting as an agent for them).

I have a pretty strong case as I have a copy of my HPS application form that had the 'no' box ticked for PPI! It doesn't appear that HPS were acting on behalf of Nationwide.

It appears that HPS Financial Services is no longer trading (although not in default). I've found a online newspaper article that suggests that HPS was collapsed into the Halifax Estate Agency, which in turn was purchased by LSL Property Services Ltd in 2009.

I've already had a claim bounced by the Halifax (stating that I should talk to HPS). I've nothing to lose by submitting a claim to LSL but I'm interested in anyone's thoughts on likely success. I guess the key thing is that liability for HPS's actions passed through the two acquisitions and now rests with LSL.

    Any comments?

    Cheers.
