Hi there, hope some of you helpful folks know an answer to a question ive got.

I have written to lloyds concerning 4 loans I took out with them from 1997 to 2002. which I didnt have the loan agreement numbers to, and amazingly just received a letter from them giving me the numbers. Now im not sure if I have any luck as they were quite a while ago, but worth a shot.

Do you think I have to fill out 1 ppi questionnaire for each loan. or just fill in the one, detailing each loan number and date.

    many thanks

Hi I Know most banks now want a questionaire for each account but not all, I would check this with them.

    One for each loan.
I sent all three of mine to HSBC in one envelope though.

The most important thing to make clear to the Bank is whether these loans were a consolidation chain. In other words, did the Vannman pay off each loan with a new loan which itself was paid off with the next loan and so on
If it was such a chain, the bank will treat it all as one complaint. If all the loans were separate then each loan will be a different complaint.

    Hello All,

I am new to the forums, but have long been a convert to MSE.
After reading on here about peoples successes on claiming back PPI, I had a look at an old Tesco Loan I had and found I had paid PPI. I filled in the template on here, and sent off all the details to Tesco. 8 weeks later they wrote to me apologize and offer me a full refund with 8% interest on my payments. £1,900 coming my way. I have told everyone to get on this site and check out for themselves how easy it is to claim back your money.
Thanks for all the advice and tips, and MSE is my favourite website :T

    Good afternoon all,

To cut a long story short I have had numerous credit cards / loans over the years and wish to put in a claim to various lenders. The problem I have no recolection as to if I was charged any PPI and all of the loans/cards are no longer in use and settled (most of which are dated between 1999 - 2005) and I no longer have any correspondance. I have trawled through bank statements online and have listed the cards / loans etc some of which have numbers that I can use where as others such as Cahoot say nothing other than their name.

I have just called Santander regarding the cahoot flexible loan and they say they no longer have me on record and that I shoud write to their archive department to try to obtain any account numbers etc but they are only entitled to keep my information on record for 6 years so it looks like this may seem a pointless exercise. The chap I spoke to on the PPI line at Santander said it is pointless filling in one of the PPI questionaires without the account numbers etc.

Could anyone offer any advise on what action I should take if any at all?

Sorry if this is a little long winded!

Any help would be much appreciated

    Regards

    Andrew
  • Hello All,

I am new to this post so sorry if I am repeating questions that have already been answered!

I went into my bank (Barclays) just to change my address and they said they wanted to see me about my ppi on my overdraft. I wasn't even aware that I was paying ppi, as such.- I had noticed I was paying for overdraft protection but didn't even think about it as I just thought that was a standard charge along with my overdraft. Barclays are now sending me a claim form but unsure how to answer the questions as

    1. I have no idea how long I have been paying
    2. I don't even remember taking this out, although I must have, but can't really say it was mis-sold as I have no memory of it.
    3. I don't know if it was over the phone, internet or in branch

My main concern is that, as I don't remember, that they can say I can't prove it was mis sold. The only thing I can say is, knowing me, I was desperate for an overdraft a few years ago so would have agreed to anything at that time if I thought it would help me get it!

Does anyone have any advice please?

    Many thanks,
    Susie

I have read quite a bit on claiming back ppi and my husband and i have had a fair few mortgages and credit cards over the past 6 years.
I sadly dont have paper work but have managed to get some account numbers through a credit agency, they gave them to me when i phoned them to cancel my subscription to them!
I am unaware if we had ppi with any of our loans/mortgages/credit cards. Perhaps going to sound silly when i ask if i need to know if i did pay ppi before i claim it back or if i can fire a questionnaire off to them anyway. I am pressuming that i will need to fill reasons etc in by saying if we had ppi we had no idea we had it? or do i need to send away for details to see if we had ppi??
Please excuse my ignorance, im wanting to make the process as simple as possible (as we all are!) i have little self confidence and dont want to get knocked back when i should have done something first. Thanks in advance for your help.

well just had a letter from tsb saying they realise the 8 weeks to make a decision is up but because they are so busy dealling with all the complaints they may take upto another 8 weeks to reach a decision. Just so frustrating after reading on about the people getting wins with tsb within 6 weeks of complainging! Ho-hum will just have to wait with fingers crossed i bit longer i suppose

You need to fully research which lenders you had PPI with, as well as decide if there are any valid mis-selling reasons which apply to you BEFORE making any complaint.
A great many PPI "complaints" received by Banks are from people who don't even have PPI and this is causing people who do have genuine concerns longer and longer waits for their cases to be dealt with.
What you are proposing is really unfair to genuine cases of mis-selling.

If you write to or call your lenders and they say you did have PPI on any of your finance, that will be a different matter.
    But do find out first!:)

Thank you, we will send for the information first. i wouldnt dream of being unfair.
  • Went through agent to recover PPI which was mis sold to cover business loan but only covered me as 1 of the directors, loan was paid off in full early as company no longer existed which i informed agent this, i recieved offer of payment from LLoyds told i would recieve payment so was sent bill for fee from agent that i used which was fine as they did the work i knew this was the case, today recieved letter from LLoyds telling me money has been sent to Treasury Solicitors Department as my company was being managed by insolvency practitioner, this was total shock to me company hasnt traded in over 2 years. I called LLoyds to ask about this was informed this fact was missed out on previous letters sent to me and the agent and they are sorry but now i have to deal with Treasury Solicitors Department. I have spoken to them and have been told to write in all my details etc check company house if dissolved company and await a response this i must do all myself and will still have to pay agent fee and now fees to them as well. wish id never main a claim and any advice would be helpful :(
