Thank you again Amersall, :T:A I have re-read the letter, it was a final response, they also mentioned in the letter account was opened in May 2005, I called them to confirm safe receipt of card in July 2005 proving that taking PPi had no bearing on the applicaiton for credit, I never said it had! I will send a recorded delivery letter today asking for proof of the conversation as that is the main basis for rejection. I will then proceed to FOS if I have no joy.:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

Hi
Thanks to this website I have successfully claimed on a loan I had. I and now wondering if I may have a claim for my credit card and would appreciate any advice.
My main reason for miss sell would be that at the time the card was taken out I was a full time university student. The card was taken out in my local branch and the adviser recommended that I take out the PPI. Is this a good enough reason to complain?
Thanks for your time.

Sorry, I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand. However I can see no links to a template letter to send to the banks to enquire if I ever had PPI on my loan agreements. The template letter on the main article is a link to what looks like a questionnaire to send to the FSO. I'm just looking for a simple template to ask if I had PPI on the following accounts I want to reclaim the payments.
Many thanks!0 -

I have called the banks as you point out. HSBC said there is no indication of PPI on their system but advised to still put it in writing. AA Finance told me to write in to request the infomation.
So I'm looking for a simple template to explain these were my account numbers, here are my details, did I have PPI? And if so I want it refunded as I never asked or wanted it.
Also am I right in thinking that PPI may have been added even if I said no when asked?0 -
Just write
Dear Bank,
Can you please inform me whether the following accounts have or had PPI applied to them:
Account 1
Account 2
etc
etc
Thanking you in advance.
Yours sincerely

You'll have to make separate complaint when you know you had PPI.

Hi,
I've had various loans over the years and some dating back to the late 90's, but I have no idea or can't remember if I had PPI's or not - and I have no paper work from them.
Is it best to call the lenders directly and they can tell me and are they likely to be honest?
Thanks for any advice/help offered

Hello all.
Just like to start of by saying what a great website and community this is. I have been a lurker for some years but it is the first time I am posting
I am currently trying to help out my brother who thinks he may have had a PPI with his home mortgage. He does not recall if what was sold to him was PPI and as of yet we have been unable to locate a letter which has a PPI Policy number on it.
The mortgage was taken out in 1997 with NatWest and ended in 2007 when he sold the house. After looking at some of his old bank statements I have located 3 charges (NatWest Mortgage, NatWest Home Insurance and NatWest Life) which were occurring monthly and I am wondering if you guys can help me understand if one of them is related to a PPI. In the case one of them is a PPI and we were unable to locate the letter which has a policy number on it, how would we go about getting hold of the PPI Policy Number?
Thanks all.0
