Thank you Amersall for your advice. Im still overwhelmed by it all to be fair. I wonder if you would take a moment to clarify that I can indeed claim for loans taken out in 2003 and 2005. Its just that when I googled welcome finance and ppi there was a pattern of "7" years popping up.
With the 2005 Loan, what month did you take this out?, if it was on or before the 14th January 2005 then Welcome will look at this, the 2003 Loan may not get you a win ( but it could, so do put the claim in) but the PPI when you settled the 2003 Loan with the 2005 Loan, this would have had the remaining PPI after the rebate put on the 2005 Loan, this is why you use the Single Premium PPI as the reason for mis sell for both and let them know that the 03 Loan was repaid with the 05 Loan.

It is easy to reclaim, we will help you every step of the way.

Do not even think about using a claims company, you can do it for the price of a stamp or phone call.
The provident Loan should not show up on the Welcome system as this is an umbrella company.

Get in touch with Welcome, do the FOS questionnaire or telephone them, give the account numbers and reasons for mis sell, Single Premium is the reason that you use, if you need any more help then just ask.

I am chasing several companies and unsure what there responses mean:-

    • Morgan Stanley Credit Card - Barclaycard state I need to contact the creditor which took over Morgan Stanley as my account as closed before they took over (August2007???)
    • Capital One - 'Where there is no sum which is, or will, or may become payable under the credit agreement, then the obligation to provide information under section 78 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 does not apply' - what does that mean?
    • Barclaycard - 'Based on the information you have given us we are unable to locate your Barclaycard account number' - how can i get this information?
    • Natwest Loans x 2 - they have sent me the account details but have said as accounts are closed they will not give me any more information - do i need to go down a DPA route? How?
    Help please
With the MS card, Barclays are correct, you need to contact MS and see if they can find you, they are the ones you do the complaint to.

If an account is closed a bank does not have to supply you with a copy of the agreement, you will have to do a Sar request if you have no card numbers to make the complaint with.

With the Natwest Loans, do you have the account numbers? if you do then put the mis sell claim in.

hi ppl, it would me much appreciated for any advice on this issue.

I have recieved an offer of 2100.00 from hsbc for 4 of the 9 ppi claims i submitted, the other 4 were too old and and the 5th loan amount £9000.00 they have not accepted responability for as they say i was eligible for the plan, and have sent me a photo copy of the signed agreement saying i have received information in relation to the plan, and that i had a cancellation period to review and cancel it. I have no paper work for any of these loans apart from policy numbers and account numbers. My question is if i take this futher and do not accept the offer could i end up with nothing????
You can accept the Loans they they have given you redress for, this does not affect the Loans they rejected, with the one they said was suitable for you, what does it say on the agreement?.

Applied first in 7th March,,,then rejected both Master and Visa ppi mis sold claim few weeks ago letters dated 8th May and both letters were final decision letters of not uphelding my claim.

Today i received again another letter dated 18th may that at this stage we have not made any decision yet and taking time to decide and we will give you final decision soon.

I had already doubt that these people just playing our ppi claims and not taking serious and its strange that i received that letter today even i did not apply for reconsideration or went to FOS.

I dont know what should i have to do as they refused ppi claim and then later i receive leter about asking more time.

Gosh this reclaiming is a nightmere!!

Iam trying to sort out my finances myself without going to the compaines. I would like to try and claim back the PPI on my old Barclaycard. I do have the statments probably just over half, but not the whole 6 years worth. Not sure how to proceed as this was closed back in 2007. Iam not prepared to send the copies of my statements with the claim letter as there are quiet a few?? Any advice??

Put the claim in for the mis sell and see what they come back with, if they reject and ask for statements then send them in, I would send copies of all those you have in with the claim to be honest, they only pay for the previous 6 years, that takes you back to 06 so they could offer you 12 months worth and then ask for proof of any more that you paid.

Hi all, wonder if anybody can assist. I took a loan with HSBC in 2002 for about £2000 over 2 years. I was sold ppi also and I remember it coming out as a separate payment.

I no longer have any paperwork for this loan or ppi, it would have been completed in 2004. I've had my current account with HSBC since the mid 90s and this is the only loan that I've had with them.

Is it likely that they'll still have/provide me with details of that loan and ppi? Or do I not have a hope??

    Thanks in advance
Give the bank a call and ask if they can find you, this is a long shot due to the year, but you never know.

Does anyone know how long the FOS are currently taking to make decisions? They have had my claim since the beginning of March after Welcome Finance told me they thought my case was too old and therefore wouldnt deal with it.
If Welcome have said that this Loan is too old I assume the FOS are going to the insurer for this reclaim? if they are then if the insurance company will not accept liability then it will be a very long wait, this is a route that the FOS are trying, to see if people can get redress.
The wait at the fOS at the moment is upwards of 12 months, sometimes it can be quicker, it is any ones guess to be honest.

Give them a call and ask how much longer do they think they will need, if they say it has been rejected, then send your complaint to the FOS with the final letter they sent and also the one asking for more time ( copies) and complain about the way they have handled this.
  • Thanks. Will fill out the claim form and let u know how i get on.
