I took out a debt relief order 2 years ago, with one year left on a 7 year loan with If. Can I still claim even though I still owe them a little money?0

Hi
I've just finished my mortagage with Nationwide and changed to HSBC, in other words remortgaged.
I checked my Nationwide documents and I had a repayment mortage on fixed rate and a further advance on the same rate. I was paying PPI on the mortgage but not on the further advance. Both were taken out at the same time and I don't know why I had it one one but not the other. Do you think I should put in a claim?
I also used to have MBNA creidt cards one fo them may still be active (I need to check). As they both had zero balances and I wasn't using them I shredded the statements ages ago. Did they charge for PPI as the standard and should I put a claim in with them as well?
Thanks in advance.
Re the Mortgage, you need to post this question here

They know more regarding mppi.
Ring Mbna and ask if they can find your accounts, look here for reasons for mis sell

If any/all apply to you then put a claim in, you only need the card numbers and reasons for mis sell.

Does anyone have any experience with claiming for this type of insurance. Any advice would be greatly received.

If you have reasons for mis sell

Then put a claim in, if you win any redress will go to the DRO and if any is surplus you get this back to you.
You get to keep the 8% and this is taxable.0 -
First time poster, long (long!) time lurker. I've finally bitten the bullet after the sheer number of ads I've seen on TV, the news story today and the spam texts I've had recently and decided to claim against HSBC. When I applied for the loan I believe I was pushed into signing for PPI in the belief that my loan was more likely to be accepted. This was my second time applying for a loan after the first application was declined 6 months earlier, and since my car was on it's last legs it wasn't something I really bothered to question.
Anyway, that's my main basis for reclaiming, but I'm a little worried since in my own stupidity I've rushed filling out the questionnaire. Upon reading it back I've put that my company sick pay was 8 weeks at full pay, when actually it's 6 months full, 6 months half. I've already sent the questionnaire recorded delivery, so should I just wait for a decision on the basis that my main reason for claiming is due to it being implied the PPI made a decision more likely to be accepted, or should I write yet another letter in the hope they receive that and read it in addition to the questionnaire?0 -

Can't hurt writing again and giving them the correct information, just make sure they know what complaint to link it to (account number, name, address etc) I had to do similar with one of mine and sent a further letter, they didn't acknowledge receiving it thoughSuccesses

bit of advice please!!!
recently had letters back from barclays and santander saying they cant find any information regarding previous loan accounts. i do admit these bank accounts were both closed by late 2006. i even sent a letter to santander archive dept. the question is: is it worth me sending any SAR letters off, or am i on to a losing battle!!!
thanks in advance for any advice
what was the outcome on this please0 -
After hearing about this PPI claiming on the TV the last few weeks got me thinking of a car finance loan I have had in the past.
It was with First Finance in 2008, I took out a Hire Purchase with the garage i bought the car from which must have used a broker for the hp as i had to complete the application on the phone while there.
This broker advised me that I should take up Mechanical breakdown insurance, Gap insurance and protection against repaying if out of work etc. I didn't understand at the time how much this would add to the loan as they only spoke in monthly payments. I felt i was bullied into it to complete the application and get the car i wanted.
Luckily i read the small print when i got home and was able to cancel the insurance package after 3 months if i wanted, which I did. Not sure if a claim would be needed for this.
However here is the sting in the tail, I have recently been looking at my credit file as been refused credit recently. I have found a deferred payment of 2.5k on my file which is £50 for 4 years??? It is around the same date as when I bought the car but my file doesn't list a company, It just says "retailer"
This is seriously killing my credit score and I didn't even know it was there until now, never heard from the company that i owed any money and the loan itself was paid off in a year even though it was a 3 year loan.
As with many on here I only have a confirmation letter from First Finance that my loan has been settled but don't have anything else to do with the broker that set up the insurance.
Could this be the insurance??? the car cost me 5k
Where do I go from here??
