dolphingazer wrote: »Hi all,
Firstly could I just say thanks to amersall for your encouraging words.
Here goes: phoned Lloyds TSB and spoke to Daniel. He asked for my post code and said there was nothing on the system. He then asked how do you spell your name. No he still couldn't find anything on the system. He then asked me for my loan number;) I said which one, I have 4 complaints here. His tone changed and he became very helpful.
I gave him the loan number and he said it didn't sound like a TSB loan, I told him it was Blackhorse.
He then gave me the phone number for Blackhorse, which he told me is in the same building. He also said that if my letter and forms had been received they would have been passed to the Blackhorse department.
I then rang the number for Blackhorse and spoke to Richard who tried to tell me I needed to ring the number I had just spoken to Daniel on. I told him this was the number Iwas given to ring about my Blackhorse PPI complaint. He tried again to tell me there was a dedicated number to ring. I said I have 4 complaints that need to be dealt with. He asked me to hold the line and put me through to Ashley. We went through all the security questions and he said he could not find any complaint. He then asked where I had sent the letter and forms and said I had sent them to the wrong address. He has given me the address in Cardiff. I now need to send copies to this address. Ashley then told me they have 12 weeks initial time to deal with the complaint(he did mention they are moving a bit quicker now) and if they find in favour then its 4 weeks after the waiver has been signed.
So sorry for such a long post, but I thought it was important to get it all across:D
Hi there
So sorry to hear of your runaround.
Did you post your previous complaints by signed for recorded delivery? Just wondered, because if you did, this would show up on the track and trace via Royal mail website and a signature of whoever received them.
So they have said 12 weeks?
I assumed it was all back to 8 weeks again. (unless banks/businesses have been given more time yet again) but I am aware they were given 12 weeks previously but assumed newish/recent complaints were back to 8 weeks.
I Wish you luck, Fingers crossed for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi can anyone tell me the year abbey credit card changed to MBNA?
have had some success re ppi claim from mbna (will post in success and failures) but they say the are only paying from the date they took over and have passed all papers back to santander.
I rang santander today and they have no records and asked me to put it in writing and attach a copy of letter from mbna.
so wanting to know what date they might have responsibility as card running from 1990 and ppi taken out 2001
thanks0 -

Hi di,
Thanks for your kind wishes
Yes I sent it recorded delivery.
I kind of feel like I was given the run around then the brush off.
Surely it must be in the building somwhere.
I will not be defeated on this it's too important, but what should my next step be?0 -
Hi guys, hoping you can help, just to make sure I'm right in doing this! Back in 2009 I took a loan out for £16k which encompassed an awful lot of student spending, a car and a move of home. Previously I'd had a loan of £10k with Tesco, I decided to move this to TSB as they were my bank and a recent letter advised they might be able to offer me a fair interest rate.
I set up a meeting and the lady went through all my finances and the interest rate didn't come out favourable. She said she'd go speak to her supervisor to see if there was anything they could do. Coming back she said that they could offer me a rate of 10% (better than before and what was on offer at the time) but only if I took out PPI with it.
I agreed to the loan on these conditions, believing the PPI to be mandatory, it's only recently (thanks to here, largely) that I've realised it shouldn't have been sold to me as such. Working for HMRC I actually have very generous sick pay so the insurance is relatively worthless to me.
At present it comes out as a separate direct debit (£300ish for loan, £63ish for the insurance) and isn't included in my loan amount when I look at my online banking.
I've filled in the form but I can't find a copy of my loan agreement (only a recent statement). A couple of questions:
- Given the circumstances is this worth pursuing? I've been paying it for 3 years now and have a further 3 years left, I could really do with not paying for PPI I don't need.
- If it is a valid claim do I need to request a copy of the loan agreement from TSB or is the letter alone valid? I have the PPI reference from my online banking (it's present when the money is taken out each month).
Thanks very much for any help guys, my wife and I are now working very hard to becoming debt free (everything but the loan now on the 0% barclaycard which WILL be paid off in 20 months, meaning debt free in 3 years...except the mortgage, that doesn't count!) and this money would go a good way to that.0 -

I would say it's deffo worth pursuing, sounds like you had no need of this and obviously the bank knew this, put in a claim, Don't just cancel it as the loan would have to be reworked without PPI, i'd put a fos questionairre in with all the details you have, that should be enough0 -
Hey guys, could anyone help me with rules and regulations on reclaiming PPI on a friend or family members behalf if they are unable for some reason or another or simply don't have the time?
Thanks0 -
Hi I took a loan out with Tesco 2009 is it too late for me to reclaim ppi ? I dont even know if I was sold it unknowingly, how or where do I look on any documentation? Any help would be great.
Thanks0 -
Hi everyone.
After a friend was successful with a PPI claim having used the template on this site I have figured its time for me to look into it. My query relates to me not knowing account numbers etc for previous credit accounts I have held (of which there is alot!). I know the companies etc but thats about it, im not even sure when I had the cards/accounts with them and whether I paid PPI or not though I think I did on a few of them. Is it feasible to just send off the letter with no account info on it? Has anyone done this before?
Thank-you all for any help/advice you can give me!:)0 -
