In that case, I would forget about it and enjoy the rest of your August. Nobody other than yourself will be able to provide you with these details. Any credit file will only show lenders going back six years.
I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!

Only if the agency was with you when you took out the policy you may not have with the lender you can't remember, and you think they may have made a note of it.

Hi .... arriving late to the party so apologies if this has already been discussed. We haven't claimed for PPI as we don't believe we ever took it out but after reading more we think it could be a possibility. The problem is we don't know if we had PPI, who the lender was, and don't have paperwork. The guidance says it's easy to find out by logging into Credit Club but I have failed the identification process despite all the details being correct.

Please can someone advise what to do next? Do I contact an agency to do this for us as despite what the MME website says about this being easy ... so far it isn't!

And this is probably why we've left it to the last minute ...!
No it's why you shouldn't have left it to the last minute...!

Hi I have never had a loan, store card or HP. Only a Mortgage. Can I claim PPI?

No, but you can complain about it.

    What is your complaint?

No you can't as you didn't have it. You declined to take out PPI.:-

That's such a fabulous find, USS Enterprise! :D
Why, I wonder, do certain people not realise that their posting history will be scrutinised prior to response? ;)

Here's the original, triumphant, post from August 2017:
    stop going on about it.
64M policies were taken out with ppi. But not by me.
We never borrowed money except for our mortgage with which I declined any ppi
So you all have my sympathy but I'm really fed up of all the adverts and phone calls.
    Nice one, Jeffkey :)

I'm guessing there isn't a service where you can just give someone your NI number and they can look at any loans etc over time?

I could well be eligible but could never recall bank accounts or loans I have had over the past 30/40 years. I'm assuming this means I am on a sticky wicket when it comes to claiming any PPI?

    Thanks

EDIT: Further Googling shows I'm out of luck unless I can remember all the loans, mortgages etc. Never mind.

If that wasn't so funny, I could actually get quite annoyed:T

  • Hi,

    I had PPI with Barclays.
Is it better to use Moneysaveingexpert tool to make a claim or go directly to Barclays PPI claim page (it looks more complicated)?

    Thanks!
