Yeah that one

Undisclosed commissionSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Hi, I’m not sure if I have a claim or not but hopefully someone can help me find out.
I’ve had a few credit cards over the past few years as well as a couple of mortgages and car/van finance arrangements.
How do I know if I paid ppi on any of them? All I have are the account numbers so can’t look through any paperwork,
Any advice appreciated,
Thanks0 -
You'd ask the lenders.0

Hi, I had never thought of claiming for PPi, until I heard Martin mention on the radio recently that the deadline is imminent.
I vaguely remembered that I had PPI years ago, on what I thought was a small loan. So as per Martin’s advice, I made a claim - although it barely seemed worth the effort.
They are paying me over £1000 in compensation! More than half of that is accrued interest, due to the amount of time that’s elapsed.
I guess the moral is, have a go! You never know. Thanks a lot to Martin and everyone who has encouraged us to claim.0 -
I used a PPI claim company about 18 months ago and after I provided them with all the information I could remember, every lender etc came back saying I didn't have PPI. Today I received a letter from Lloyds Bank apologising for the fact that they have now discovered PPI on my account. They are now dealing with it but have sent me a 14 page questionnaire asking me to complete as much information as possible.
My question is, can I ask Lloyds for the product or lender they sold PPI through as I do not recall this? They provide an account and policy number in the letter. I can remember some of my old mortgage lenders and old credit cards but that's it. Time is running out and is it worthwhile all the effort if I cannot remember dates etc? Thanks.0 -
You can ask them anything0

I had an overdraft with Barclays from 2003-2019.I am curious to know if I would have had PPI added to it without my knowledge?
The interest rates from 2003-10 were very cheap & I was in the overdraft most of the time in that period but that all changed with circumstances that pushed me into the overdraft again in 2017-18 and the rip-off charges & 75p a day fees.
I happily ended my overdraft this year☺️.
Could I theoretically be owed money?Given the nature of Banks & their attitudes to terms and conditions(“We reserve the right to change terms & conditions without notice)ANYTHING is possible....
What does anyone else out there think?0 -

How could it be without your knowledge? Any charge would be on your bank statement.0 -
i Took out a mortgage years ago through a broker who added PPI in without telling me. Should I be chasing the lender or the broker?0
