So i would like to pay another £30 of off the loan before the minimum payment comes out on the 28th so that when the payment comes out the total will be £8999. However not totally sure how im going to manage this. it's my mums birthday at the end of the month and am trying to keep some money back so that i can get her something. was going to take her out for a meal but the restraunt we like is an hour a way and we would have to go in 2 cars so with petrol costs id be looking at £100. so instead i thought i could get her some nice flowers, a bottle of nice drink (we dont drink alcohol but she likes the nice fruit juices and we dont have them that often) order a chinese and get a cake which i guess doing it this way would cost me about £60 (I hope this is a big over estimate) i have £22 saved all ready. soi need £38 towards this and £30 towards the loan. i def dont have £68 worth of stuff to sell so need to come up with a plan. Im hoping to get this money above my weekly spend allowance.
i do have £87 put away as i was expecting to have to buy 2 new tyres earlier this week but only needed one however will need to replace the other one in 3/4 months and need an mot in march0 -
Pay day weds and minimum payments taken out thursday so a bit more paid of the loan also made a £452.96 overpayment to the loan so total is £7460 left to pay. I wont manage to pay anymore of this month though as the car is due its MOT (fingers crossed it passess) and had to get the other tyre replaced (although should last a good 18 months).
Am once again having the dilemma of whether i should pay a bit less of off the loan and put some in my savings/emergency fund as it took a bit off a hammering last year and as of yet i have not built it pack up to the amount i had in it. My problem is the less i put in it the more goes of the loan and the sooner its paid then i can work on the savings  decisions.
Am also considering a CCard as once my last one was paid off i cancelled it but was wondering if its worth getting one (with tesco for example) that has benefits i can make use off. If any one has any advice would be much appreciated0 -
Just did a snowball and if i pay the loan at the minimum amount it will be clear by May 2014 (1 year earlier than predicted) really hope i can clear it earlier than this though. I would like to take my niece away in december (only to butlins winter wonderland) so ideally would like this paid by november.0

Hi all feeling really sorry for myself today
. i keep thinking of how much I'm missing out on because of this stupid mess i've got myself in with money. It' s all my own fault and I know that but nearly £1000 a month im paying towards debts and i could do so much with that money but instead as soon as pay day arrives i say goodbye to it. I think whats worse is that I have nothing to show for all this money i've wasted.
I still owe £7460 and this is the least amount of debt i have been in since the age of 18. It's all been wasted on "keeping up with the jonse's" as they say. Anyway bit of a pointless post but just wanted to put it somewhere so when i read back it acts as a deterent for wasteing any more0 -
Balances have all update so have £7460 left to pay (plus intrest)0

Feeling a bit unmotivated at the moment so have set myself the target of having my loan down to £500 by the 25th may as this will be one year since i took it out (although only 11 months paid back) not sure if i will manage it as there was no overtime last night but will give it a go0

so i'm back have debt again although it is manageable. I paid off my last lot by selling my car thinking that I could manage without one however this proved not to be the case. I have now got a car which I am leasing over 3 years and for 1 payment a month everything is covered except tyres and fuel. and the end of 3 years I can take it back and get a new one or just return it.
The payments each month are much less than I paid before and I have managed to save £4300 since april because of this. I have now decided though to try and overpay some off the lease so that the monthly payments are reduced.
I was planning tofill up the ISA on pay day and then in august start paying the car but have decided to spend the next 4 months paying the car and then fill the ISA again.
So its going to be a tough few months as I had got used to having the extra money0 -
Keep going, don't lose heart,:) you are doing so well!0
