  • am off to bed after another night shift. 4 doen 1 to go but looks like i have a contact for another job it's not ideal and not great money but its more than if i was sat at home so it's better than nothing and once the loans gone if i dont enjoy it i could give it up just hope my friend who works there can put in a good word. roll on tomorrow as i am allowed to get my weekly allowance from the bank
  • :p low spend day yesterday lol 69p on a packet of mints for work so not quite a no spend day but could have been worse as fancied pepsi and chocolate but only took a £1 in with me . However it's going to be a high spend day today parents have been on holiday so i need to replenish the cupboards and make my sister something nice for dinner as she looked after me all weekend whilst i did a long stretch of nights. Also need to get my haircut not had it done this year:eek: yet and its getting unmanageable so no choice but to get it done today. then i need to get a full copy of my birth certificate because without that I cant start the agency work so more money to spend out :(. Oh well after today have no more spends planned this week as have another 4 night shifts

Hi, you are doing really well on the overpayments.

Just to say birth certificates are easy to get, you can usually order them over the phone from the office where you were first registered. They will post them to you or you can pick them up. Whatever you do don't use one of those companies that advertise doing it for you on the net. They charge loads extra and all they do is call the register office in the same way. I've done this a number of times as my kids love losing theirs. :D
  • hi thanks Jayjay yes it should be easy enought o get just the place near me is open odd hours and because of my shifts can't always get there during them however am going to try today.
I've stayed up untill now so i can check my banking I should be able to see what interest has been added to my loan this month and therefore what it goes down to when the direct debit comes off it today hoping it will go down a bit but i do have another £100 i could pay off but will decide when i see the totals. Oh well best go and have a look
  • Well direct debit for loan payment has come out but it hasn't updated online yet so have no idea what the loan is down too. I have some money left and although i know that it makes more sense to pay it off the loan i'd love to get the credit card below £600. Th interest free time runs out in january and although im making more than the minimum payments am not sure I will have it paid by then. I'm hoping that by then there will be less than £200 left on it so another transfer to a 0% card may not be worth it.
  • well i made another payment to the credit card this am of £25.01 so the balance is now £599.49 (need to update sig at bottom) that will probably be it fot overpayments to here now. Just waiting for the internet banking to update then I may do another overpayment to the loan.
Had a bit of a spend day today. a birthday card and makeup bag for when i go on holiday in 67 sleeps £1.59 in total so not bad
  • just paid another £10 of the cc as then it makes £100 paid this month. would love to get it below £500 this month but realistically thats not going to happen as also want to pay some more of off the loan.
on payday i take a set amount of money out to use each week for things like shampoo, soap and the odd treat for work (dont need to buy food as live at home although obviously pick up bits if im out and know we are short although i buy my own toiletries as can only use 1 type of shampoo at £5 a pot but it does last 2 weeks so not so bad) I usually allow myself £30 a week for this as i also buy food for when i look after my neice 1 day a week and soft play etc however i have decided for the next 3 weeks to see if i van manage on £20 that would mean another £30 could go off the loan lol I just wont it gone and its going to take forever especially with the lack of extra shifts
  • well minimum payment is finally showing off of the loan and the balance is 14,671  still such a long way to go. Why on earth did i let myself get into this mess? Ive been paying debts off for 7 months now and these increased rates and they dont seem to be getting any smaller and without the extra shifts (they now stop in 2 weeks) i've no chance of paying it all off by next june like i had hoped.
I've just made another payment to the credit card of £9.49 and and extra £37.11off the loan. Ive also managed to order my birth certificate (11.50 :() as needed a full a copy to go on the nurse bank and ive only ever had a short version but hopefully when it arrives I can be fast tracked and start within a week (as long as there are shifts available) also off to pick up another application form before work which hopefully will lead to some more zero hours work when my overtime gets stopped (this job would be better as closer to home and no parking costs to pay out so although it is slightly less pay it will work out more overall)
Just feeling sorry for myself today and think it all seems never ending:(
  • well a no spend day today and one application form handed in. Also received an email to say my birth certificate is on its way so monday i can arrange to take it to the main hospital and go on the bank so hopefully get a few more shifts.
Have spent the last hour taking pictures of all my books that ive bought over the last few months (they went and opened a charity book shop on the estate 10 for a £1) so i keep buying them but at least its cheaper than new ones lol. anyway someones coming to collect 30 tomorrow and hopefully someone else is coming for 10 sunday so that £35 made :T
  • not a no spend day yesterday had to go to mr T. cost me £5.98 for a few bits. but managed to make £29 by selling some books on facebook. and a no spend day today have also managed to pay another £30 off of the credit card and £50 of off the loan
