That's not all. As comp is split into user and admin I assume the check will go over all files.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Avira. Normally this would stop everything but somehow this slipped through. The clincher was for her to click on the ""Repair This"" button instead of ignoring it. The only thing different to normal is that she was using a BT Fon hotspot, can't see how this would be a problem though.Blackpool_Saver wrote: »Hi, sorry this happened to you, what anti v were you running when this happened? sorry if you have said but I didn't recognise the names....I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Regrettably, no luck, all files still hidden. Rescue was set at repair files,
Downloaded malwarebytes to cd and ran after installing, doing quick one first then full.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
if you can now boot normally, you need unhide.exe

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

once the full scan's finished, if you can then get into safe mode with networking, see if mbam will update & run. Keep unhide until you can boot normally..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I wouldn't bother (yet?). Any further files found with the full scan are likely begnin - concentrate on getting the pc running correctly & then run a full scan at your leisure if your happier running a full scan.peter_the_piper wrote: »Found 7 !!!!!!s on the quick scan so trying to get the rest with the full one.0
