Running updated quick scan now, will give log when done.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Give the log tomorrow, found three items, took 45mins for Quick Scan, glad I did not opt for the full. good night.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

There's something not right there. The quick scan on average should take 5-10 minutes.0

I'm beginning to think Combofix, even in safe mode, may be worth a try at this point.........or possibly Hitman Pro in Breach Mode......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Hi, I'm nearly back, not yet turned laptop in yet, password holder not awake yet. Would the scan time have been affected by the fact that the avira update kept going. and avira kept sayins scanning in progress? It went on and on and I could not stop it. It downloaded 11054 k and installed it and then started all over again and again. I tried to uninstall avira but it would not, is there an external uninstaller like for nortons?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I wouldn't uninstall Avira at the moment untill your system is clean first, maybe worth running a online scan in safe mode with networking using Hitman Pro and then run a online scan with Eset before going down the Combofix route.
Just wondering if the viruses are resident in the system restore files as well, so maybe turn off system restore, reboot and then run the scans above in safe mode with networking first and then MBAM, as Waddler is working on this follow his advice first.0 -
I think I'm muddying the waters with this avira thing. i'll delete all its files and Eusing reg cleaner to get rid of the garbage first and then see about the rest. 2 antiviruses running at the same time is going to cause some confict isn't it?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Must say a big thanks to all trying to help, never had a virus on my own comps so I'm a bit out of my depth.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Cannot do a thing about uninstalling, access is denied. Use manual uninstaller, ha ha.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
