    Troll score= 6/10.

Literacy is set correctly at an appalling level and punctuation non-existent, use of txtspk gives you an additional point, but you failed to use exclamation marks or insult the OP directly.
    Must do better next time.

I now detest going to Tesco. I only go as it the nearest supermarket. The queues have become a joke, I regularly spend longer queuing to pay than I do going around the store. I remember a few years ago when they used to advertise that if there is more than one person in front of you we will open another till. Those days are long gone.

The petrol is a lot cheaper at Asda as well but it is on the other side of town.

    tesco 135.9 unleaded
    Asda 134.7 unleaded

    Every little helps. My ar5e.

All big supermarkets are a nightmare as far as i am concerned , I lose the will to live half way round . I am sure some items are dearer in some supermarkets , but would guess its swings and roundabouts .I do online shopping for dried/ tined goods , cleaning products etc , and then buy enough for a few months , meat from a butchers , and fruit and veg from a local market gardener , job done . As others have posted you have to factor in the cost of your time , the cost of transport plus the cost on your sanity when deciding where to shop .

Also its not what you save thats important , its what you spend , some posters on MSE seem to spend half their lives hunting down a 'bargain' to store in one of their many freezers and/ or cupboards .

At the end of the day , why would any business bother to trade if they didnt make a profit

Didn't they have to withdraw those ads because they never did it?

As far as I can remember it was one of these "participating stores only (but we're not going to tell you which)" type of 'deals'.

They probably did that as a get out for situations where they simply didn't have any available extra operators rather than with dishonest intent.

Nonetheless, as soon as people started discovering instances of it not happening they also started kicking up a stink.

Why supermarkets all seem to have such an obsessive horror of actually having enough checkout operators is a bit of a mystery. Maybe they do not understand multi-server queuing theory (which, it has to be said, is not the most intuitive areas of mathematics).
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

I can't think of an exact equivalent of Margo, but Captain George Mainwaring is close enough.

Having read through some of your posts you appear to make quite a habit of it. The vast majority are on here to help each other and offer a bit of advice.

Just to say he started it by describing my post as drivel. That is not exactly helpful debate.

Your comment certainly isn't relevant to the thread.;)
