Cheap crappy leads are becoming scarily common place in larger cars these days. My local family bargains store (like the traditional £1 shop but not restricted to £1) is even selling them now for about £4.
I've been let down by cheap leads before so I bought my 25mm2 leads from Halfords. Never had any trouble with them. Sure they're a bit big, clumbersone and they're a pain to untangle but they'll jump start almost anything. I'd like to get the 35mm2 leads one day but thats obsessive overkill
Seriously, I can't recommend good quality leads enough to anyone looking to buy and carry them in their boot. Cheap leads are not worth the hassle.0 -

i dont recommend anyone use jump leads on modern cars especially things like citroens and pewgots with their bsi devices
my jump leads are as i said at least 25 years old and are usually only used to ascertain if a vehicle has a bad earthing engine rather than used for the purpose they were built
its far too dodgy to blow something
they are fine on the car in this thread though
