  • Yahoo a shiny new thread and a loverly new budget to spend:j

£200 for march for four adults and a dog - DH is adamant that there are only two days more in March than there were in February so why do we need a bigger budget?:mad:

First shop of the month was a biggie at the cash and carry but am hoping we have enough loo roll / dog food / shower gel / tin foil / beans / rice etc for the month and I'll just need a top up of fresh fruit, veg and milk each week.:D

Away to up date the sig now

Good luck everybody! May all your whoopsies be big ones ;)

Big spend for me today but included lots of cleaning products/nappies/wipes etc. It scares me how much I spend, when I see on here that there are families of four adults who stick to a budget that is half of mine. where does it all go??!!!

I am so desperate to cut our budget (hopefully to half of what it is) and would like to say thank you to the people who run and post on this thread, as I really think it is going to help me. Here's hoping!

  • Im starting to panic a little but..... ive already spent most of my March budget and i dont officially start till the day after tomorrow!

We used 3 x £5 off £30 shop at Ald*, and a £5 off a £40 spend at Tesc0. Saving £20 on my budget was just too much to resist:rotfl:

Ald* Nappys are fantastic, much much better than some of the leading brands we tried, so we now have enough to last until end of April.:D

The freezer is packed with 6 chickens, over 4kg of mince beef and 80 sausages! I also have 8kg Pasta, 8kg rice, 10kg Potatoes and a fridge and freezer full of veg so i have no idea why i am panicing!

Seen as ive bought enough Nappys and meat to last well into April, ive reduced Aprils budget by £25 and increased my budget this month.

Managed to get 5 Value Bread reduced by an extra 30%, which made it 33p per loaf! But....My 2yo insisted on carrying them to the freezer, giving them a tight squish so he didnt drop them :rotfl:

    Good luck to all :)

NSD here. We just don't need to visit a SM.

We had salmon/HM wedges and salad - iceberg lettuce/onion/celery/grated carrot for dinner.

I really need to put the grocery costs under control.
At the I'm spending way too much, realistically I should be spending £200 per month, does that seem achievable for 2 adults and a toddler?!

  • Hey Folks,

Just checking in - have had a few spends here and there over the last few days.. Mainly to use that fantastic 75p of voucher for fabric conditioner! :D There seems to be a limit of 3 coupons on the self service tills at Mr T (in the little express/metro ones) and so it's taken a couple of trips during my lunch break and after work.. I now have 8 bottles though, so well stocked for a while!

So much temptation to get even more though - do others find that? I gave one of my friends in work the voucher too and she's been to a big Mr T and now has 21 bottles!!! How much stocking up is too much stocking up?? Part of me thinks it will take her most of the year to use it all and a lot of space to store, and part of me is thinking I should have bought more!:rotfl:

Will dig out receipts and update sig later on - hope the damage isn't too bad!

Oops I forgot that I'd already done a shop which should be included in this month's GC. I've therefore spent £22.83 so far! I need to venture out for milk later, although I'm quite tempted to get some garlic bread as well to go with my pasta tonight. To save money I guess I should make my own :)
