On to Week 3, and this week i have spent £39.68 going to L!dl and Mr M.
(Got some cellophane from L!dl too, for Xmas- but thats a different budget.)
Will probably have to pop into Mr T to get some milk and bread halfway during the week though.
This weekly limit is working so much better for me than monthly. Even though i went over my budget last week, i am spending significantly less than i was, so its all good :)

I realy cant thank you all enough for your help, and also for your suggestion about starting my DFD, it was been a real help. I think holding mysef accountable really helps.

I think i am going to be able to reduced my limit from £60 a week to £50 a week in the future, but not quite yet.

    Hi
    Hope everyone is doing well.
Just updated my signature and have one shop left but I will be extremely lucky if I come in on budget. Been so busy at work and weekends that meal planning has gone a bit haywire and we are all on a healthy eating blast so fruit and veg bill has risen dramatically. Anyway will continue to update each week and see how I go. Once schools break up for easter I should be able to keep track of posts for a few weeks. :))

Afternoon all - another NSD here. Off for fish and chips and bowling tonight - paid for by work. All I need is money for a drink at bowling - oops - put a bottle of water from work in my bag (all legal - dont worry) - so dont even need that. Happy days!

Just popping in to say that these small pieces may be potato starch which is why they go gooey - they look like polystyrene but they are sort of inedible wotsits and are often totally biodegradable.

thanks for that, makes a lot of sense, it does look a lot like mashed potato when wet think I will try some in the compost bin.

    Hi everyone,

I've done one shop in March so far, but then have been holding on until today (pay day today, phew).

I've meal planned, and put together a shopping list and then looked at the Rosspa website, and got very excited about how the prices compared, and ordered about half my shopping from them. However, the delivery charge is £15 - is that normal? I don't know if that actually negates any savings I might have made. The heaviest thing I've ordered is probably the 10kg carrots or the 5 litre tub of white vinegar- I use it for cleaning, laundry etc, and was going to buy a couple of bottles this week.

that does seem a lot for delivery, what was the weight? itis £5.50 for 25kg.Its easy to calculate as the weight is updated everytime you put something in your basket,if you go over the 25kg even by a small amount it triggers another £5.50, I had added 3 cabbages to my last order taking me slightly over and making delivery £11,removed a cabbage,29p and it brought me back to £5.50,that would have been one very expensive cabbage.

I have updated the signature. Things are looking healthy for the month but I know that there is some alcohol to come off bought for entertaining and there is a huge shop due as I am feeding 8 for 5 days. I have been to Costco today and now have 48 toilet rolls and 12 huge kitchen rolls. Off to find somewhere to put them. Well done all of you on the fiscal diet, it is really impressive.

Thought I better check the loo roll stash .... haven't bought any since September and - I'm down to around 70:eek:

Another "in my defense" justifications coming .... it's around a 60 mile round trip to Home Bar*gains so I don't go very often and get lots when I do!

I went down to my last one, and it was almost started when I bought another four!! I've never been that low before, and it was quite a good feeling. Now to do that with the rest of the stuff in this house. I swear the house would feel so much bigger if I didn't have the equivalent of a small supermarket in it!!

£7.97 spent today in bk, normally to be taken from ents budget, but that all went on dd birthday this month, so has to be taken from here for now. Been promising them bk since last October, so it was a lovely post-ofsted treat. Glad that's over, and now I can relax this evening/spend the evening making cakes for my mum's mother's day present!

Actually, if I start now, they'll be cool enough to put into a tub so I can go to bed reasonably early. Not making the sandwiches tonight, as dd requested pink bread for sandwiches tomorrow. Well, convo went something like:
Me: We've run out of bread, so we'll pop into te$co on the way back from bk.
DD: no, I want hm pink bread instead!!! With jam so it's pink and pink!

I'm not going to argue with that! Last year, for her birthday, I gave her jam sandwiches in pink bread, and she loved it! Saves a few pennies today, and nets me a nsd into the mix too - nice!

    Night all,

I am grumpy, I walked to L!dle at lunchtime especially for the cellophane and there wasn't any :(

I bought the office some custard creams, but it wasn't what I wanted - 36p down and no cellophane :(
