Do I just take, say x packets of tea bought on special offer on week 1 and take the money off weeks two three and four, while paying back the money spent into week one?
How do other people do it?
We have a monthly budget and some months we go over as we bulk buy. We find that if it comes out during one month from the bank then thats that even if its going to last us. We tried splitting it across the weeks/months but it never worked as it didnt tally with our bank account lol.
Try it a couple of different ways to see which works best for you.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

elsiepac - do you mind me asking if there is any particular reason why you aim for a weekly shop of £9? Is it part of a challenge on here, or is it just what you have leftover from bills etc to buy food with?
Sorry if you think i am being nosey, just curious! No need to answer if you'd rather not0 -

Hi everyone,
Weekly shop in MrT today - £60.27. Have also been shopping from my stockpile (2nd purse) over the last few days. Need to update my totals.
Had a 'use up things from the freezer' weekend. Found some croissants/pain au choc that I'd sliced and frozen before Christmas. Was originally going to use them for Nigellers bread and butter lookie likey but I warmed those up for breakfast yesterday instead.
Also had stuffing balls (prepared last weekend from a 40p rtc packet), and parsnips baked with maple syrup mmmm, that I'd prepared and frozen at Christmas - with our roast pork yesterday.
Net result is more space in the freezer, some good sized empty storage boxes ready to be reused, and not a penny to the SMs!
Keep up the good work everyone.Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 17/25 Currently reading The Ghost Fields by Elly Griffiths0 -
