Sorry to hear about recent losses - and well done for keeping it together as well as you have been.
I only had a little spend today of £3. something, but I need to sit down and work out my finances, as this month has gone awry already what with dd's party. I will guestimate current total after looking at olb, and add onto yearly total, but am a bit cross with myself at losing concentration. Ho hum...
Dinner tomorrow is cottage pie, which I am making tonight as we have friends coming over tomorrow after dinner, and if i try to make it tomorrow, we'll still be eating it when they get here!! They're coming over to give dd her present as they couldn't make it to the party.
Feel a bit up in the air at the moment with regard to money - will go off and fix that now, so I can jump straight back on that wagon!!Grocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100

Hello ladies, can I join please?
I think we are OK ish generally, but I am actually very intrigued by our monthly spend! and am looking forward to finding out more. TBH this is as much out of interest as MSE, as I feel we are generally pretty good (veg box, bumper £25 bag of frozen meat from farm shop [Love this!], fishmonger etc but we could def be better!
I am only going to include food, probably not takeaways / meals out as we prob have one or the other of those most weekends but are happy with that (:o). I am also not counting wine - we have reduced that but will be a separate budget, will include cleaning stuff but as i have a bit of a shop already it may be skewed...
Enough waffle, am going for £200 per month for people. I *think* we might be under that but will work from there. So far this month veg box £16, Aldi (new fav place, esp for fruit) £25, milk £1.20. Fridge and freezer well stocked, soup made for lunch next 2 days...DFW Nerd #1310 -
I have found a trolley on amazing. It's a hoppa, 47 litres, quite pretty!!! It's got big flowers on it, either balck and white, or navy and purple. Those of you who have a trolley, would this be a good one to get? It's a bargain at £17.something, but don't want to get it if it wouldn't do the business!
TIA

ps - sorted out money now, I think. Have about £80 left for March. That's fine, and better than I thought. Prob missed something very obvious...Grocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100

Hi all,
Well in the past couple of days i've spent almost a quarter of the monthly budget. Scary thing is i still have to pay for cat food and school meals.
Ah well we lots of potatoes, rice and washing powder. OH looked at the prices as i wasn't feeling well, he reckoned Persil non-bio 70 wash was better value than anything else in the shop. So should last us the next couple of months at least.
We all had a free lunch courstesy of MIL so saved me cooking today, was lovely too. So todays dinner will now be tomorrow so thats sorted. Been attempting to make a meal plan and its looking okay for the next couple of weeks,if all goes to plan.
good luck peeps!0 -

Had a quick look - they look nice! Would you (or anyone else) recommend a 2-wheel or 4-wheel option? I'm thinking 2-wheel would be easier to store, and better-looking to transport, but would work as well?
Loving it - I found a penny today, so I'm going to create a 2012 roadkill jar! £0.01 so far!!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
