Speed awareness course..taking points for someone else?

  • You say he drives "LOTS" of miles per year ..........

Does that mean he drives due to his job, and if so, would losing his license result in him losing his job........... just a thought!
  • Given the number of points already on his licence, you would have thought he would be more careful when driving to ensure that he doesn't get any more. I've had my licence for 26 years, never had any points, ever.

Taxi drivers 'drive a lot' - most of them have also been in the industry for many many years!

But the guy has 9 points and continues to speed?
  • Bit dotty posting it on here if you are thinking about doing it as you are going to get a strong response from most people.
If you do go ahead, just never ever tell anyone and if you split up with your OH, don't decide to try and shop them as it will get you in more trouble than him as will probably be the case with the recent headlines.
I can see that case going only one way and that's Hune getting away with it(if he did in fact do it), as his wife is definitely a liar, whereas he only may be.

On saturday i opened a letter addressed to me telling me i had been speeding and therefore get the points and fine or i can go on the awareness course..

    This does not sound right.

First communication does not tell you that you have got points or a fine. The first letter asks you to name the driver

Unless he'd already had the first letter and replied naming the OP as the driver without her knowing?

He is not a menace he drives thousands of miles a year and is bound to have the odd one which unfortunalty has mounted up now to the point of too many.

If he stuck to the speed limit, I find it hard to see how he'd get any points. Do they issue the 'odd one' for driving so many miles, regardless of speed?

Time for someone to take responsibility for their actions, if he didn't speed he wouldn't have the points. Tell him to stop driving like a willy.

And you never do? What is it like up on your high pedestal?

Having said that a bit daft with 9+ points on his licence.
I can honestly say I've never exceeded the posted speed limit in the last 6 years.

It was 6 years ago that my daughter was gravely injured by a speeding motorist, spent 8 months in hospital and is now permanently disabled. What was his sentence? A little slap on his wallet and 9 points on his licence.

Out of curiosity, what was the cause of the incident for him to only get points and a fine?

Send the form back saying he was driving as you don't know what sort of camera caught him speeding. If it is one that includes a picture of the driver you will both be in the sh*t as soon as you send it back with your name unless you look like him.
