Conspiracy to pervert the course of justice - a very serious offence - see Chris Hune.
Plus your OH stays on the road and he is obviously a menace.

Do you not follow any news?

It's unlikely you'll be caught out, but if you are then the consequences can be serious. And they can be quite a long way in the future:

Thanks for the replies taken on board!
  • You need to return the paperwork naming you oh as the driver. End of.

Thought that to be the case tbh and did say i wasn't happy doing it. He is not a menace he drives thousands of miles a year and is bound to have the odd one which unfortunalty has mounted up now to the point of too many.
Doesn't matter how many thousands of miles he drives, if he speeds he's a menace. It's obviously not just the once.
A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove you don't need it.
  • Halos R Us are out in force, ooh get them.

I wouldn't risk taking the nick for him now you've put it on the net.

If you had posted nothing a simple memory lapse etc, but now you have admitted to knowledge of OH driving there is evidence albeit flimsy.

NOOO!!! Don't post that on here, we'll never hear the end of it :D

Bob's got a point though, Jelly.

To be losing his licence if he gets these points probably means he's been caught out 3 times already in the past 2 or 3 years, even though he should know his licence is more at risk each time.

That suggests he either doesn't give a toss (in which case he may not give a toss about other road users either) or he doesn't concentrate well enough to keep within the limit.

Most people, if they get within 1 ticket of losing their licence, start driving like Grandads until some of the points have gone rather than asking someone to lie to save them (and potentially end up in court / prison as a result).

In fact, from your first post, it sounds like he didn't even ask - was the letter accusing you the first you knew about him saying it was you driving? If it was then he deserves to lose more than his licence

eta: And if he tries to guilt-trip you into accepting them because "he's already said it was you so will get in trouble if you don't play along" then try to remember that he didn't have to speed (repeatedly), and he didn't have to try and blame you to get out of it. Maybe facing the results of his choices will be good for him in time :)

And you never do? What is it like up on your high pedestal?

Having said that a bit daft with 9+ points on his licence.

Will he actually be banned for a period of time, or lose his licence until he can take another test?

Don't take his points for him.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Whilst I wouldn't support perverting the course of justice, I can maybe help set your mind at rest about the likely outcome.

Can you tell us what speed he was doing, the speed limit and which police force is prosecuting you?
