Car Park Scam: Car Washing.
Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I'm really not sure what to do.
At about 12.30 today I parked in a car park where there is a hand car washing company operating. My car was filthy so I decided to have it washed. The car 2 cars to the left had been washed and they'd done a good job. So the man came over, I paid £5.75, he wrote down the car details, asked when we'd be back and said he'd have it done.
I'd said we'd be back between 3 and 3.30, so when we arrived back at 3.45, expected it to be done. Except it wasn't.
There was a phone number on all the signs around their shed in the middle of the car park, which I have phoned lots of times, but it just goes to answerphone. I don't know what to do. I have emailed the council parking office and explained what happened.
I'm absolutely fuming that I've fallen for a stupid scam.
Any ideas on what I can do?

Put your Doc Martin's on and give their shed a right good kicking .
If they are regular in this car park though you only have to wait till they are operating and nail them .You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
Just wait until they are around and tell them they didnt wash your car.
Failing that leaving leaflets warning people of a carwash scam operating in the carpark may help them decide to do the right thing.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I would be inclined to report them to immigration. Just say that you think there are people working there illegally.0

looks like you were cleaned out
or not in this case:D0 -
Thanks people.
The trouble is it's about a 40 minute drive from me, I took my future MIL shopping for a wedding outfit.
My Mum works in the town though, so she's gonna pop over and try and get my money back.
If they'd answer the mobile I wouldn't be so cross about it!!!First date 10.2.2002

Why did you pay before it was cleaned? You are unlikely to see your money back.0
