Mrs Hinge you're moving house, it's stressful and chaotic therefore it will be depressing. However, imagine sitting on the sofa with the kiddies with cuddles and hot chocolate in your new home. Persevere don't get down it'll be all worth it.

    Rock on Mrs Hinge :j

Stripes is right....... Sometimes your body doesn't want to fight anymore, you've been on a low ebb health wise, it will improve.

Hope you've got a big red felt tip to cross off the days ..... Don't think about how much you have to do, get a box, and aim to finish one box, before a break, and onto the next,.
As they say no pain no gain, and it's fab exercise the ML :money: way.

Chin up and as Stripes says dream about your family safe in a damp free and Missy Hinge friendly home.....

  • Sorry you are feeling down hun.

Maybe just maybe you just want this to be over with so you can go back to dealing with a more normal level of chaos. You've had a huge amount on your plate even for you..

You and Lucky need to start taking some me time... wherever you can get it! xx

P.S YAYYYYYY for moving house in a week. Just imagine... :D xx

The letting agent has plonked a big "to let" sign in the middle of my drive way, and we have a list of demands for times they want to do viewings.....

I feel so invaded!! I want to scream at them NOOOOOO!! Wait until we move out but that feels unreasonable.

We heard today that they have increased Missy Hinge's DLA to MRC but dropped her LRM, they say she doesn't qualify for HRC or HRM based on schools report. They say she has no day time needs greater than that of a average child. They awarded her MRC based on her night time needs only.

I fail to see how they can come to that conclusion but they say "school don't do anything for her" (in the same sentence they agree school do medicate her and assist with mobility and toileting) so she can't possible have day time needs..... she is only in school 3.5hours a day as she physically can not cope with being there all day, every day.

I have no fight left to battle them at the moment. It makes me feel sick everytime I get a brown envelope in the post or I have to ring them for updates.

Car failed it's MOT today needing new brakes and some adjustments to the head lights and handbrake, with service it if just over £300..... luckily the car account has enough to cover it and I am grateful for my budgeting and saving pots over the last 3 years.

i'm cold and sat under my duvet, maudling and tearful today. I know this move is awesome for us and I am desperate to move but selfishly wish i could click my fingers and it all be done and dusted. I have run out of steam.

time for a cuppa and some day time trash TV I think.... house work can wait!!

  • Wish I could pop over and help you (though would probably spend more time watching tv with you :p).

Totally get where you are coming from with the brown envelope sickness. It's always drama! Xx

Keep your chin up. Live to fight the battle another day. DLA people are ridiculous jobsworths...

I'm up for TV. I vote you stick a note on the door for every viewing explaining that you are moving and the place is a tip, but did they know about the damp? :rotfl:

    Hugs and strength! xx

First viewing took one look at the damp and left...... 2nd folk didn't even bother to turn up  I had blinking made the place sparkling aswell, well as much as you can with this hovel!

Spoke to the parent carer Lady regarding the DLA she advised me to go to court appeal as they have totally contradicted themselves outlining all the additional needs she has then saying she doesn't have any needs so doesn't meet the criteria!! She also told me about a grant to apply for which is £100-£150 grant, can claim once every financial year for both superman and missy hinge to spend all on me! :T

have done some online surfing today, renewed home insurance and car insurance (ball ache with moving but they run out tomorrow so had too......) and saved a massive £330 a year car insurance and £7 a month house insurance (total savings £33 a month of the DD's) AND got £84 cash back :money:
check my energy tariff and we are on the best deal, DD reduced by £16 a month to avoid a big over payment (Stripe knows I am still recovering from the last Eon ordeal :rotfl:)

    Organised chaos....... slow and steady!

  • Lol at the viewings. Will be even worse once you have gone... people will take one glance without all the furniture and just leave!

Glad the lady said that although it was blatantly obvious anyway. Just jobsworth tick boxers doing their worst to get out of paying and hit stupidly imposed government targets!! AYYYYY for the grant!! Sounds perfect and JUST what you need!! ;) why do I get the idea it might end up on wardrobes :rotfl:

Well done you on the savings... £330 on car insurance is mad!!!

These days with energy providers, if you are more than £5 in credit at the billing date, they HAVE to refund all of your credit by law. Stupidly for me, it meant I was paying over the odds all year, they finally dropped the DD down, and then billed me, refunded the hundreds of credit just before winter and whacked the DD up to cover it :wall:

Slow and steady wins the race :) xx

EON refunded me 3 lots of my bakance so I ended up owing them £450 .........

the car insurance has shocked me, I am mighty pleased though as it is a huge saving, day light robbery though :rotfl::rotfl:

my grant is to give me a break, no wardrobes allowed..... they ask for receipts as proof. I will plan a day spar with my friend and have a chillax!

I took superman to the cinema at the weekend to see Big Hero 6.... he loved it and is not "side slap, side slap, fist thumb, fire work" to anyone and everyone that will do it with him. It makes him chuckle and it is gorgeous to see! Downside is i couldn't find Superman's CEA card so I had to pay for my ticket at £8.90

Did a quick jiggle with the numbers in the SOA calculators and snowball ones and out debtfree date is looking like march 2017 ..... can't remember if that's good or bad but it's less than 3 years away so I am going for good :rotfl:

Moving progress is slooooooooooooow! The house is half packed, the van is booked, wardrobes ordered, virgin media booked and finally a date is set to collect the keys!!:beer:

moneywise I have applied for CA for Missy Hinge and waiting to hear back, I've collected the application form to re-apply for housing benefit for the new house. DD have been re-jiggled to make a much better cash flow throughout the month to avoid the wealthy weeks and brasic weeks

Food budget is well below target as we empty the freezer and cupboards to avoid lugging it with us :rotfl:

Missy Hinge remains on half days at school and I continue to spent what feels like an eternity doing school runs.....

Debt repayments are going well, I think when we have settled in our DMP repayments can be increased

How is everyone? Stripes? Lilt? Lucky? echo......echo...
