I tried to keep the guy online, using the usual answering his questions with a bit of obfuscation.

Well, that would confuse him, is it a ChaShyre word? ;)

I've read five pages with amused interest, but must move on now, so I don't know if this has been covered.
My attitude is that you should heap as much abuse on them as possible, so that they no longer want to do the job(?) O.K. they just get a replacement, but perhaps together, we can exhaust their local manpower (or woman power) before they exhaust our combined efforts to disuade them.
Nah......will never happen, but it gets it off OUR chests.
• Sorry to here about all you lot still waiting, I must have had at least 5 this year the wind up time in total must be 50 mins or so. The last one about 3 weeks ago I tried to sell him my car but for some reason he could not understand.

Another 2 phone calls today.
5minutes apart.
I asked them for their phone number, was given 020 81444173 so i googled it, info below, phoned it back and got through to an indian woman, different to the one who phoned me, but confirmed it was them that phoned me, told me I had errors in my event viewer, I asked them how they got my details. They said "When you installed windows on to your computer you signed up with us." to which I replied NO I DIDNT, my computer came pre installed with windows, and at no time did it ask to tell me I was signing up with Global Impact,Westgate house,Westgate road, London W51YY phone number above.
They said they are a legitimate company working with microsoft. BS I said microsoft dont work with 3rd party technical companies.
Remove my details from your database NOW.
Kept insisting they wanted to show me the errors, considering i've disabled event viewer, and the error reporting service which i told her she said well you can always TURN OFF your internet to stop it sending us the information, after I told the woman I was a IT specialist, that i repair computers she hung up on me.
not at IT specialist, my nephew is, he did the college test and everything, but i did teach him most of what he knows before he went to college.
I will now contact virginmedia and give them the phone number so they can block it, however when i did a 1471 is said caller withheld there number so i doubt whether that will work.
• So funny, I just read this thread this morning, and got a call 5 mins ago! Was very excited and all ready to play the game. Let them give me the speel about errors, and then I Asked them which computer it was on. She said the oldest one. I replied, well, how did that happen as I don't use it anymore? Then she hung up. I am on VM and have Anonymous Call Rejection, but the b@st@rds still get through.

1471 says that "the last caller is not available" (or somesuch).

Can VM, BT etc actually block them?

Would we get more response from MS? They were quick to persue Mike Rowe Software, and he never claimed to have anything to do with MS.

He probably couldn't give you a recipe because his name was Gary, he was born and lives in Southall and he has never visited Asia!
