I drive a BMW, but it's a Mini and I had to put in a new indicator bulb today as mine was worn out. So some of us do.:D

Either worn out or has never been used so when you wanted to it was like ... woah!? i'm meant to light up!? :P

In that case he would have indicated, had Lee been visible.

Apparently not, if it would confuse other drivers.
Advanced drivers can make that decision for them as well.
  • It would seem most Focus and Micra models have the 50cc low emission engines fitted, i could push the things faster than most of them drive, except when they get into 30 limits when they go like hell.

  • There is a simple explanation for this. BMW drivers think they are better than everybody else, therefore they also think that they don't need to obey speed limits or indicate when joining a motorway or exiting a roundabout

Whenever I have a BMW behind me I never use my indicators

While we're doing this, can anyone tell me if Mk1 Mondeos came from the factory with gaffer tape stuck on the bumpers, and do Skoda Superb TDIs come from the factory with a beaded seat cushion, 137,000 miles on the clock and vomit stains on the back seats?

I'm a Beemer driver and an advanced driver. I AM better than all of you :-p I indicate everywhere. People often bang on about only indicating if another road user will benefit, and that doing this will make people pay more attention to what's around them. I don't agree with that, just indicate, whether you see anyone around or not, just in case someone appears from a side road or whatever.
Also, please note 'road user' does not just mean drivers, it includes pedestrians, cyclists etc.

The point of indicating only if there are other road users around to benefit is more of a training exercise to make you concentrate on your surroundings and be aware of other road users. Once you've got that down it's probably not needed any more.

Only real reason to keep it up is to ensure that your alertness levels do not diminish once you've got your advanced driving certificate.
  • When I was learning to drive, I was told that I didn't need to indicate if I was parked at the side of the road and was moving off if there was no one about. But to always indicate at junctions, roundabouts, etc.
