Once you take the £40 delivery charge into account it's £959. It's available for £966.70 inc free delivery from Dixons here.

With the £10 discount code and quidco it works out slightly cheaper, that's if it's in stock in your area.

Just ordered a 32" Hitachi lcd tv (digital tuner & hd ready)
from John Lewis....Free 5 year guarantee, Free Delivery
Used discount code (easy to find) and ordered through Quidco, paid with credit card so bottom line is fraction over £400 ( bargain!)

You should be aware that Hitachi do not actually make TV's ( or cameras ) anymore, this item will just be a re-badged, somewhat low quality item, with a Hitachi badge attached.

Shame, because Hitachi used to make superb TV's.;)

well i've just gone for the R87 32" after much research and that gets a good write up. From memory your 37" model has a different panel to the 32" which is good news as the panel in the 32" can be abit of a lottery as to whether you get a good one or not. The price seems good for 37" and you get the peace of mind with the warranty aswell.

Evening all, I've been trawling the net for hours, help needed please

Ok we are after a good 42" tv, now I don't know alot about telly's so don't know whether lcd or plasma is best, (I have heard the rule above 42" = plasma, below 42" = LCD) but what if you want a 42":D

Have about £700-900 to play with, obviously less is best, would like a new stand or bracket in that price.

    Any suggestions

How about this panasonic from laskys £749.99 + your choice of pedestal/cabinet or wall fitting. - good choice of delivery dates - discount through quidco - I've just bought one and can't fault the set nor company.

Just to let you know, I ordered my Samsung LE37R87BDX from John Lewis online for £849 with the 5 years guarantee included andfree delivery.

However, if you buy from a John Lewis store they do a price match (online they dont) and empire direct.co.uk is doing the same model for £704.99 , I read on the AV forums that most that have asked for the price match, have been given it.

Anything to make it cheaper is always a good thing.

They will match certain prices, but not online prices:

From my experience they are a great company to deal with..ordered a 32" hitachi lcd with them on Monday ( Just over £400, 5yr warranty & del.) and they rang me yesterday to arrange delivery next Wednesday.
Previously I had experienced their 5 yr warranty on my old TV..developed a problem after 3 yrs which was beyond economical repair and they offered my money back in-full...wouldn't go anywhere else for a TV.
