I know that, but I was trying to show was how much extra you were paying for a five-year extended warranty which might not be worth more than the paper it's written on. This is a money-saving forum after all.

The general consensus of opinion among shop wise shoppers is, that as modern electronic items are so reliable, it's better to keep your money in your pocket and that extended warranties are a bit of a rip-off.

The warranty you have is with an Internet company who has no fixed address or contact telephone number that one can see on their site. They could disappear tomorrow without trace .

As it says in their What's Covered? (Copied below) The remaining years are covered directly by Teleland so you have no recourse to anybody. You even have to ship it back to them which would cost at least £30 if something went wrong.

I just believe you have been wasting your money.

All our TVs come with at least 1 year manufacturer's warranty, while some particular models come with up to 2 or 3 years manufacturer's warranty. in which we honour the manufacturer's warranty. The first few years that are covered by the manufacturer is an on-site warranty, meaning they will collect the TV and cover the carriage costs. The remaining years with Teleland are a return-to-base warranty, meaning you will need to cover the carriage costs by sending it back or arranging us to collect it. Although the manufacturer's warranty varies with each model, you will still be covered for a full 5 years warranty for both parts and labour. If your TV can't be repaired then don't worry, it will simply be replaced for a new one! Please refer to the table below for a breakdown of how your warranty is covered:

Teleland's address is on their website, on the about us page :-

    Registered Office Address:
    15 Knightland Road
    London
    E5 9HR

    Company No:
    5962895

I went with John Lewis and got 5 year guarantee/ warrenty included in the price, maybe the TV price was more due to this than elsewhere but i'f i'm spending over £500 (£850 in my case), i'd like a fall back if something goes wrong.

Do you think they sent the E2 by accident or would I get it too? as if yes I will buy from ebuyer but I don't want to chance getting the E1 and will order the slightly dearer one from INTEKX

    Thanks

I did wonder what pip was :rotfl: I know nothing about these things so this thread has been brilliant for me.

Hi,can anyone tell me which one of these would be the better buy?
    SAMSUNG LE32R87BDX -- SAMSUNG LE32R87BDX 32" LCD TELEVISION HD or Sony KDL32S2510U.

littleminx - it all comes down to personal preference. I went with the Samsung as i prefered the piano black finish to case - purely from an eye candy perspective. Some argue the Sony has a superior picture but i'm very happy with the samsung - great picture and design. Regards Huggins
