When all is considered; this Aldi deal will be very difficult to beat. However, for those who are looking for more inches for their cash this ebuyer deal a 42 inch Relisys @ £580 with google checkout may be well considering. Has good reviews and there are 71 in stock. See http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/search/?qfind=Relisys+RLT42DV30&x=13&y=15

From Sunday 3rd June Aldi have a cracking HD LCD on offer at £699

Here is some of the specification of this 42" HD LCD.

    HD Ready (480i/p 579i/p 720p 1080i)

LG Philips Grade A+ LCD panel

    1366 x 768 resolution

    Contrast ratio 2000:1

    Brightness 500cd/m2

    Response Time 5ms

    Viewing angle 178

    2 x HDMI inputs

    Intergrated Freeview tuner

    2 x 12w nicam stereo speakers

    Progressive Scan

    In Plane switching

    2000 page Teletext.

All the specification looks fairly promising - I just wonder whether this really is a bargain?

Doh just seen this post! lol

Oh well its too late to delete it now!

Ive been looking around for a 37 or 40" HD LCD for a while now and think this looks quite a bargain compared to other similar spec'ed models.

Are Philips LCD panels of a good enough quality?

I Have found another website http://www.teleland.co.uk/item--Samsung-37-LCD-HD-TV--SamsungLE37R87BD.html .. selling at £691... with free del. + 5 yr warranty... But i never heard of this site... any recommendations or advices..... Or should i wait a week or two to see if John Lewis prices come down....

Here's a Samsung LE32R87BDX 32", which is a slightly lower model but much cheaper.

you could try 1st audiovisual or prc direct, both selling the above for less than £650, you won't get a 5 yr warranty though, been thinking about buying this tv myself;)
