Hi moneywaster-no more. Did'nt manage to wangle much - just a free shower gel with coupon from a magazine - which someone had taken into work! Yes I am that frugal (or mean!). It has been an expensive week .. but no birthdays until May so bit of respite.
Good luck with second job and interview.0 -
Hello
. I've just read your diary and wanted to wish you well with your challenge.
You seem to be doing all the right things, but I just wondered if maybe there's a Credit Union in your town? If so I would really recommend joining. They may be able to lend you the money to pay off Provident and the payday loan, and it would be at a much more reasonable interest rate than you're paying now.
Good luck with your second job xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527
Debt May 21: Unsecured ZERO! ZILCH! Mortgage £22,3320 -
Just stumbled across your diary and want to wish you the best of luck .... sounds like you're doing great so far and - as far as wasting £000s goes - bet I can beat you in that department!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -

update
Rang credit expert, they are going to reimburse my payment, :j they do not know how it happened, as they do have record of my cancellation.
Second job, they did not get in touch yesterday, to make arrangements for an interview. Don't know what to do. I don't what to come over as pushy and contact them. But I need to know, so that I know whether to start my search for work again.

Hi moneywaster-no more. Am going to put money aside for birthdays (I am useless at anything "craft", not great at baking either). Have spent the last hour entering competitions - toys/books especially - hope to win something in time for dgd's 4th birthday in July. Will keep fingers crossed. Now going to sort out seeds for veg patch. Best wishes.0

Sorry. For some reason missed a page there..you aren't gone AWOL at all have you?? Sorry about that!
Pity re job but don't think you're pestering if you were told to expect a call and it didn't happen. You need to know either way. It looks professional I think if you politely ask if there was a mix up? It means you're on the ball and keen.
Hope the decorating has gone well..are you still on hols..or am I just getting mixed up?!

PS..sorry...third post...must be going a little mad..but also agree re the credit union. I have an account at our local one and it's a great idea. The loans are a good rate and much better than payday or provident  Very understanding and quite unlike a 'usual' bank..altho I am also with co-op /smile which does a good basic account as well.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Good Morning All, nice sunny day here in the NE
Adrisco OOH a veg patch, we must swap ideas, we have an allotment. DH does the heavy work, I just plant and pick lol. Do You have success with your veg ? I too am going to try and have birthdays sorted before they arrive.
Brizzled :rotfl:glad to see there is more than me losing the plot lol.
Decorating went well, bedroom is all done and the carpet was laid yesterday, so put it all back together last night.
I am still on holiday, back to work Tuesday night. I don't really like being off work, as it gives me time to spend !. Although I have cut back lots, the thought to go out and spend is still with me, hopefully it will diminish as time goes on.
update.
Second Job have been in touch and I have an interview planned for 22nd of March which is next Thursday at 2pm. :j So hard not to build my hopes up.
Well Provident did not arrive last week, so I am expecting her this week. See how she takes the half payments News. Not that I am concerned, as a lot say on these boards. Cant have what I have not got. Priority bills first.
Council tax bill has arrived £898, in 10 payments, but I will ring and ask them, if they can make it over 12. But I owe 188 from this year, so it will probably work out the same. What the big difference is, that all of thats year I was paying £150 per month to clear arrears. So I do not have that to pay this year :j. I was paying my provident and letting my other bills slip . From what I have read on these boards. Thats why provident call for payment, instead of a making DD payments. As you are more likely to pay them at the door face to face. Its threating tactics when you think of it.
I have learned such a lot from all you fab people on here, wish I had found this site years ago.
Well must move from this table and get on.

Well. Provident arrived today (she got her weeks mixed up) I paid her half my payment, she was fine. Said I may get a letter or "visit" from her boss "Chris" to sign a form. I told her that was no problem.
I have just changed over from bt to sky full package. BT billed me today £70.69 final bill. Soooo I rang them. DH said pay it, I said no way using any of my little bit of spare money to pay them. Reason being. When I rang them to change to sky they told me, they could drop my package from £22 to £13, I ask them if they could do that, why had they not contacted me to tell me I was paying to much. He said its not company policy to. So I said and you wonder why I am leaving bt ?
Anyway rang them, and told them I did not have the cash
BT when can you pay it in full
ME I cant pay it in full, I do not have £70 spare, only my wage, have to pay my priority debt
BT can You pay it when you get paid next
ME no I can never pay you £70 all in one go
BT It has to be paid
ME I know that, I just cant pay it all in one go.
BT can you hold the line
Wait wait wait
BT can you pay £35 in April and £35 in may
Me yes that will be no problem at all.
BT can I take your card details
ME no, I will ring each month and make a card payment.
BT OK that will be fine..........can I help you with anything else today !!!!!Provident[STRIKE] £550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£450[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£400[/STRIKE] £300, Friend [STRIKE]£1000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£900[/STRIKE], £800 :j
