  • I must admit I don't get this have a bin in the bathroom thing.

If a shampoo bottle / toilet roll / whatever is no longer needed then it gets taken down and put into the recycling / general bin straight away.

Why put something into a small bin to be put into a bigger bin at a later date - seems like its making work when work doesn't need to be made

  • See, I find the idea of putting menstrual waste in the kitchen bin a bit nauseating. Likewise babies' nappies - anything that emerges from one's nether regions has no place in the kitchen bin, no matter how frequently it is emptied.

It's only blood. What happens with the blood from the Sunday roast packaging? That goes in the kitchen bin. Or left over black pudding.

When the kids were at toddler and into everything stage, I didn't have a bathroom bin if I recall, I took stuff back and put it in my bedroom bin (my bedroom door was always kept shut!) or straight downstairs.

However, now I have a bin in the bathroom for convenience.

  • Aliasojo - I didn't mean to imply that her dad was pursuing a dedicated, long-term course of action specifically designed to damage the poor girl!

It just seemed to me that his arguing the point with you indicated that to him it is a trivial matter of a bit of recycling when in fact mooching through the bin when the mood takes him is a lot more cringe-making than he yet realises.

Clip him round the back of the head and remind him who's boss ... always works in my house! :rotfl:
  • well seeing as its me that empties the bin and im the only one who bothers to put anything in it then we dont have a problem:D

nothing awful gets put in it anyway and its not big enough to put more than 1 empty bottle in

It's said that Mooncup contents make excellent plant food. I'll take their word for it though, I've never ever fancied putting it to the test!

In this house, any bottles & packaging is put straight in the recycling box, loo roll tubes are given to the cats as they love to destroy them, then recycled. Anything that goes in the bin is stuff that can't be recycled.
Well there you go then - a combination of moon cups and luxurious potted plants in the bathroom. Problem solved.

Lol, no I realise that. :D It's just that I'm always quick to call him for 'whatever' when necessary so I thought it best to defend him too, just in case I'd inadvertantly made people think he was deliberately being inconsiderate and ignoring our feelings on the matter after we'd made it clear we weren't happy.

    No biggie. :D
