I hate made up names and name with silly spellings. Also not keen on hyphenated names especially when the first name and surnames are hyphenated.
I think it is a shame that any name can be given to a child as that never used to be the case. My parents wanted a slightly different spelling of a name (nothing weird) and were not allowed it as the Registrar said it was not a nameThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Out of them all , Emily is the name I like the most . I agree with those saying to give the baby a 'proper' name . The flower names are popular at present so if I had to choose a child's name now I'd go for something not everyone else is using . I like Marnie and also Romilly , Verity , Dominique, Juliette and Raine. Best wishes OP for your new baby .0

Similarly, I would put money on the 5 year old son of a classmate of mine; Deesal (that's Diesel - which in itself is appalling - misspelled) amounting to very little in life. Let's get real, he's not going to become a lawyer, is he?!
It is your prerogative of course to view a childs name as being able to limit their future potential and capabilities. Personally I dont see why this should affect what a child achieves in life.
Surely he can become whatever he sets out to be, purely by his own abilities academic or otherwise, and by how he applies himself.
There are plenty of very successful people throughout history who have had unusual names aren't there. If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants ~ Isaac Newton0 -
Out of those choices i really like Daisy the most
If i have kids the girl is being called Chloe (then Olivia as a middle name) and I quite like Jack for a boy (this has nothing to do with my 24 obesession...honest)
I have a pretty normal name (Rebecca) but i always go by the nickname of Beki (spelt like that because back in year 7 there were 3 of us called Rebecca and to make things easier we all adopted different spellings, i was Beki, one was Becky and the other was Beky)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. We chose Aidan for our son and have the problem will people misspelling (Aiden, Eden!! or Adrian). Increasingly there are personalised gifts for "Aidan" but now he has grown out of the age when he wants them!
Out of your names Tina got my vote (though I prefer Christina really), second choice Daisy.
Good luck.
Exactly the same for us, we've had ayden, aydon, Aedon (!!!!!! ??) aswell as those you've mentioned,
we also had massive problems with his school who insist on spelling it Aiden - to the point where I put in a complaint because he was getting so upset - the teacher tried to tell me it was him and they try to correct him when they can, until I pointed out it was HER handwriting in his book not his
back on topic, we love the girls name Amelia as our children are MASSIVE DR who fans (I had to NO to Riversong :rotfl:), and we like the shortened version of Amy (my Nans name), however there are so many now I cant see us using it.
Emily is the only one from the OP's list I would pick if I had to, but its not one I personally likeBow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
I wouldn't pick any of the names the OP put in their poll, another thing to watch out for these days is how the name will go as an email address I sent one to a GREED the other day which made me smile.0

Of the flower names I always liked Violet, but my mother managed to put me off by saying everyone would shorten it to Vi, which does really sound like an old ladies name!
Lily Allen has called her kid Ethel. I don't care how popular that makes the name or how many more Ethel's start popping up, it's always going to be an old dear's name!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
If my son had been a girl he would have been Orla or Niamh. But he had balls so he's Aaron although over the phone everyone thinks its Adam.
I love Aidan, that was my first choice but OH didnt like itThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
