I've been nosing through this thread with interest over the last few days. I'm planning to start a little bit of buy/selling and 'double your money' seems like a nice goal to get started with. A few of you are inspiring me to give it a go so I just thought I'd say hello!0

Hi Patchwork Girl from another newbie to the group!
My first proper sale today on a DMI item (is that the correct acronym?) bought for £1 sold for £3 including postage.... Only about £1 made but better than nothing!
I decided to list my books on ebay in sets of 20, they will hopefully attract more interest that way and I can use that to buy something a bit more sensible!0 -
Well done badsaver
and welcome to the thread Patchwork girl

Hi all, I have been looking over this thread with great interest. TOnight I took a first look at I-bidder and I bought a fridge freezer. For myself.... Not really sure that is how it is meant to work!! However, tomorrow I am looking again for my son as he is interested in this challenge too.
I bought a mirror last week - £5 so that will be my starting point. Really I want to keep on doubling my money until our CC is paid off.
I am also thinking of cashing in the premium bond (£100) I have had sat around for the last 15 years or so and using it on Zopa. Any thoughts? We are majorly skint, but working on improving debts and getting back to a position where we only owe on the mortgage. I suppose the £100 might be better paid directly off the CC, but given that it has sat around for all this time I feel like it is ok to use it for Zopa.
Hm, lots to learn, lots to think about! Thank you for your enthusiasm.May GC - £100 per week
Week 1 - £120/£100 , Week 2 £110/100:o, Week 3 £110/£100:mad:, Week 4 £50/100Week 5
DFW - March '13 - c/c £5600, April £4500, May £2500 :T0 -
Oh i love seeing more money in my zopa account when i haven't added any
just checked and now have £703.14 in there
must check how long its been since my last update
ETA 18th April i checked last and had £700.10 in there, so thats £3.04 interest since then
Just had a wee read round the new system on there too - the new safeguard option means no chance of losing money through non payment and they have a new tracker option which means you are always getting a higher return than from bank accountsits looking good

Welcome to the thread sugarwalsh
Having £100 back from the premium bonds seems like a good idea to me!!
**puts sensible head on** technically the best thing to do is to check the interest rate you are paying on your CC and if it is more than the interest you would get from zopa (or any other account) you would be best paying that. The current rates on zopa are approx 6.5% though they do change frequently. What rate are you paying on your CC?
**takes sensible head off** I know sometimes its hard to pay everything off the CC and not have any savings etc
**sensible head back on **BUT sometimes you can look at your CC differently if you are paying say 12% on a CC £100 paid off that is equivalent to having it in a savings account paying £12% interestDebt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go
