  • ok the daydream thread got past the 10;000 posts, sooooooooo we have now got a new thread:T.

When i started the thread nearly 3 years ago, i honestly didnt think it would have lasted this long, i thought i might have been the only mad one:D.

but we have become a nice little community on the daydream challenge thread.

some of us still dreaming, some of use have got the dream ( or a nightmare, depending on how you look at it).

here is a link to the original thread

Anyway CoolTrikerChick - I probably haven't mentioned but I have now got the dream - a chum and myself took over a community garden a couple of months ago. We are just making repairs and propagating for a launch in Marchish time.

About 32m poly, greenhouse, 30 raised beds, orchard, hut with kitchen, 2 sheds, storage garage, lawn, pond, composting loo, reed bed - it's got the lot.

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:T:T:T:T:T:T
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

I take it you mean £249 950 in view of the stanp duty threshold? :D;)

Well it's a bit more than that, but that's what we expect to achieve as a minimum. It depends which agent we go with, one offers a price spread and the other doesn't.

According to the govt. website, 3% stamp duty is payable on £250,001 and above. Not at EXACTLY £250k

    Hello, Zambuca (sorry, for the misspell, but it's one of my favourite drinks!) and welcome. Sorry if I'm belated. My access to the computer is erratic :}

Just looking back at Spring this year. April was the key pollination month for our apples and pears but:
    • sunshine was 80% of 30 year norm
    • temperature was 1.1C below 30 year norm
    • rainfall was 89% above 30 year norm
So it was dull, cold and very, very wet!

No wonder my fruit yield was so badly hit, just the trees that flower in early May doing any good.

    Then there was flaming June:
    • temperature 0.4C below norm
    • sunshine 69% of norm
    • rainfall 239% of norm
And it didnt get much better :(

And we had late frosts which meant all the fruit tree blossom got frosted. :(

    Still, there's always 2013.
