    'merry christmas rhiwie's family':rudolf::rudolf::rudolf:

    1st December today ( pinch,punch first of the month:D)

    where has this year gone ??????

    I know you normally talk about and look back on the year around new years eve, but for me the high points

    managing to save scrounge, borrow money and actually buy somewhere to call 'my Ranch':D:beer:

    Getting some of the land ready and having piggies:T
    meeting mr & mrs Rhiwie and Alfie:T

    LOW POINTS...

    weather...so not being able to do more at the ranch in the summer

    accident on the way to bulldog

    weather... sooooooooo much rain.

    roller coaster of a year in work

    The supermarket being built and open by our house:mad::mad::mad:( but they do lovely strawberry and fresh cream muffins:D)

    Losing our lovely doberman 'rocky' who would have been 10 this year.. still miss him, bless his him..

    food prices and the general cost of things really biting in this year..

    Also, did I mention the weather:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    There are prob loads of more highs and lows, but.. all in all it does seem like a depressing year

    BUT even though i have just had a moan... and said it was a poo year, In reality it was the year my daydream came true, and in reality it was a very good year with just that happening..

    right off to have a cuppa...

    and think i am going to have a mooch around the house and find some crap to put on the bay:rotfl:

    vory should be fori ( or it could be fori)
    f =v

    ff = f
    it's fory. I should know this, but I've been spelling in English for a long time - old habits and all....

    Anyway, Bore Da! Sut mae'r tywydd hiddiw? Mae hi'n braf ac oer yna.

    Aw, we've come a long way and it's good to reflect on how our progress.

    For me, it's been a whirlwind.

    This time last year, we had just bought our ranch too! I must post a pic of our front view....

    Thanks for that, lir. It is a big one! :) I've also joined the wood pellet thread over on another channel of MSE, as I found that very useful & interesting.

    Meanwhile we've been to another stove & heating place today, where again, the advice seemed sound, non-pushy and rooted in a good understanding of the products. We learned what I'd heard elsewhere, that Grant are entering the pellet boiler market, which is good news, since they're British and have a good track record. Just about squeeze in as a Westcountry company too. ;) These folk will have one of their boilers up & running in the New Year.

    We're already sold on Woodwarm woodburners, which are made in Cullompton. People around here rave about them. :D

    Isn't that colour 'Warm Plaster' from Furrow and Bull? :rotfl:
    I'm trying to work out how to load a photo... It's been such a long time I've forgotten, but now I'm caught up in older posts on woodburners and such. I really need to read. We've got a friend who raves about Clearview stoves. They look expensive though!

    My sense is your heart, like mine, is in Wales...?

    It's funny, but when I first went to Wales I didn't feel in any way close, although distant relatives hailed from the border region according to the family tree. It wasn't like Scotland, which I'd visited many times as a child, and where, when I returned as an adult, I felt instantly 'at home.' Everyone spoke like my Mum!

    With Wales, the language got in the way at first, but the landscapes were so beautiful, I kept returning. I picked up a few words so that i could guess at place names etc, and then it just grew on me. :)

    I have to say that although Devon is beautiful, West Wales has it beat, and there are fewer people out there enjoying it, so the sense of freedom is better. Despite that, there seem to be more public footpaths, lay-bys, forest trails etc. than around here. Also, West Wales is a place where smallholding is almost the norm, and that has to be good if you're a Daydreamer. ;)

    Load it up to Tinypic, or similar, and then post the link they give you into your post. :)

    I have. Clear view and hate it. It's very likely mine is badly installed though.

    How much of a rush are you in? Mine will be replaced at some point.

    I'm sorry to hear that, LIR. My friend thinks they're the best stoves ever.

    We're in no rush to do anything :) We are fully integrated into the Pemborkeshire way of life, it'll happen "yn y vory", "Pembrokeshire Promise" and all....

    Seriously though, if you are replacing it we may well be interested... We are thinking that we'll start work in the house after March, so we won't be installing anything til after that. Everything's totally up in the air until we have a better idea of what the costings are and how the budget is going to be applied. One thing is for certain that the budget is not likely to be enough, so we're always interested in a secondhand... Let me know... Cheers :D

    Which link do I use, Dave? This is exciting, I've just realised I can import all my FB stuff too...
