]
i have absolutely NO IDEA what it is/does..... all i know is i drove home with a set of wheels virtually balanced on my head, the van was full with a loooooong pole thing stuck out of front window and the rear door :eek: , a windsurf board , and g*d knows what else....

It was only by living here that we began to feel like doing more to the place than a quick tart-up and flog-on.
Maybe that's more to do with people, though. When you sign that contract, you may have no idea what your local community will be like, or what sort of support you'll get. We struck lucky there....and the soil makes me forgive a lot of other things!
But I'd be lying if I said I've found this easy. I didn't want to return to this locality for personal reasons, and my feelings about that haven't altered entirely, though they're less strong.
You sound very happy with your choice of smallholding, which is the most important thing.We looked at dozens and very few had more advantages than down-sides, when viewed from an emotional distance.

Sounding good so far
Your earlier post on stoles had me thinking of a vicar wearing one of those furry beasties round his neck :rotfl::rotfl:
Alf, re washing I sometimes think we wash clothes too often. Undergarments daily, but why do we wash cleanish overgarments after a single use ?
Had some more good news today, DD2 got an academic linked "honour" quite early in life. Dead chuffed for her :j
Researched a bit more on my medical anatomical wall charts. Think they are 1890-1910 so should do well. But my architects drawings are also 1890s so finding a buyer for them may be more problematic0 -
