It's stunning here this morning. Clear blue skies, slight breeze, golden soft autumn sun.

  • Alternating short sunny spells with heavy downpours here. So, we keep ending up with low sunshine under really black clouds. Currently just grey so what you'd call "thinking about it".

DH keeping me company indoors as everywhere outside very wet & it will take some time to get to the stage where trying to get out to do anything would have anything other than a detrimental effect. No point paunching everywhere up.

Odd requests on a small holding...

This week an old man tried to buy apples from me while I was in the middle of a meeting here. Well, I just told him to take A few if he wanted to, but that generally we used them.

Today found older woman prowling aout the place and tramping through every dog poo she passed inadvertantly (yuck).

She then tried to enlist me to bring my 'pony and trap' to a 'thing' they are doing on saturday.

Few problems with that, main one being I have no pony and trap. ( might have a horse and doctors buggy one day though). Also, that Saturday, I am busy, so if I had a pony and trap it would be going no where on saturday.

I would love a doctors buggy.

One careful owner from Whitechapel 1888-1891 ;)

Yep, be careful, LIR. They may be genuine locals, they may be locals who are trying to get a closer look at what you're up to (my own personal best bet given the building work) or they may, as alfie says, be up to no good & sussing out the possibilities for gain.

Hmmmm. Lovely & sunny out now, so do I get up on the barn roof and try to finish one end of it this afternoon? Or is that courting disaster in the form of hail and violent rain, like we had this morning? :(

I was up at the village earlier. As I stepped out of the car, I thought, "That's a familiar noise, but surely not...." Cocking an ear, I realised it was indeed my friends, The Dogs. They were clearly audible, even above the normal village sounds, over a kilometre away!

It's Friday, and Mr & Mrs Dog go out all day on Fridays....separately. ;)
