COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »Rhiwie I could have told you that was a sealyham, I was secretary of the sealyham terrier club upteen moons ago, when I used to show and judge them, went over to the states too:D.. sold a load of my sealyham stuff years ago, and most of that went to the states...Used to show westies and bloodhounds too
Edit.... and a useless bit of info.....did you know sealyham terriers is one of the only breeds of dog that has its origins pinpointed to the exact place/house Sealyham Mansion.... most other breeds comes from an 'area'
Took us 2 hours to track down the breed. Thought it was a Scottie at first but the ears were wrong. Read something about them being a threatened breed in the UK.
£487 to service and MOT car  Ouch!!
And two cars to tax this month as well
Against that September will be a good month for income and just got an e-mail saying our room booked for next week has been booked 5x for the same night, so there's less to spend . Unless we trade up and spend more.
Driving past a farmers field of sweetcorn earlier and they dont look mature.0 -

Best way forward advice please? Its hanging off, so think it has to come right off. What chance do you all reckon to cuttings from it?
Never done figs except by division, but this person thinks it's possible at this time of year:

So, drove car to the Car Hospice and got £130 for it, as promised.
The man was very confused however, because after I phoned to get a price, someone else turned up in the same model of car, so he thought he'd already bought it. He insisted on showing me, so I had to say, "Yes, that's just like it, but mine's parked around the corner!" :rotfl:
Then, we were able to detour slightly on the way home to the 'farm' where DW had sourced some chickens. Ha! Not exactly a farm, more like the scrapyard we'd just come from, but despite the appalling, muddly mess, the birds were well cared-for, free from nasties and used to being handled. At £5 each they were also very cheap!
We left with 2 Light Sussex, a Sussex reject, which is just white, and a Rhodie, the egg of which came from someone we know about. They'll be companions for our female Austrosummer, when they have done 2 weeks in quarantine.0 -
Three windows have arrived! The 'original' crittal larder window has been remade the same but in double glazed wood, and we made another window the same but bigger. They even found a very similar catch for me on these windows, i loved the original catch but it could not be reused.
Then a remake of the other rotten wooden window also made double glazed. Its so like the original i don't think any one passing will ever know.
Its suddenly going so fast i cannot keep up. I haven't chosen the ruddy paint colour for windows yet!0 -
Oh, and now, all my birds are in before 6:30. Its still light here, but they have given up for the day. Who can blame them!0

Next year i want to get a pretty under window outside thing to have them displayed in, so might pot them up individually now (they are mainly planted into those long plastic window boxes). I also think we will move the fogs into the back garden. There is more sun, and i can try and get more huge plastic pots for them to have them all along the 'terrace' (aka concrete path at back of house):D:D need you ask....:rotfl:

I have two really huge ones, like , grow a man in them. Have you seen them? They have figs in. I have never seen thjem again. They look like terracotta but are actually so much better for moving etc.
Infact, my only really nice wintersafe terracotta potts have not proven winter safe at all. The last few winters, bar last one, have just been too hard i guess.0 -
