Never enough figs davesnave, never enough. After a zilch performance this year the ice crsytal fig has suddenly put all its efforts into ripening three figs, so if it stays warm maybe, maybe a nice fig. Lots of tinies for next year, but then, so were there last year. I think i might thatch and wrap them this winter, what do you think? All of mine are hardy ones, and this winter was mild, i think it was the disappointing summer rather than winter conditions that have caused my figgy non oerformance this year.

    I just love figs.

Chicken shed Mark 2.........:):):)... well behind schedule.:o

This one's a 10' x 6' and it features twin pop holes, though I suppose I'll still have to make windbreaks for each side.

Just got to get the roof on fully and add all the twiddly bits.

    Sounds promising alfie! ;)

    hello....

i am dead on my feet but had a blast :D

up early ,back late so didnt post here cos i kept falling asleep on the sofa :o

    ooops like then........

it was very busy as i didnt realise its the goodwood revival next weekend. i could have sold bucket loads of larger sizes but only had MY collection of dresses :(
did well today and had a lovely dutch couple come to my stand. she loved a peacock blue silk dress, beautifully fitted bodice and full petticoated skirt. she tried it on and WOW she stopped the crowds ! literally !! she was stunned when her husband said he wasnt sure....:( they left and half hour later he wizzed back for it on the quiet :D about 2 hrs later she came running up to me and nearly hugged me to death....:rotfl: she was heart broken when he said NO but he then took her to the car sales and told her he'd bought her something .... a classic MGB ....BLUE :D so he had then given her the BLUE dress and she was over the moon..... thier wedding anniversay ... 15yrs..:D
i was well chuffed with the gazebo...highly recomend this one for the money ! went up in 5 minutes and really well made , all the net sides were perfect, plenty of head room too.:D

must tell you......when i got to the sale friday morning 7am to que in the off field to get in at 8am, i got chatting ;) to some french guys in the que as we all got out of vehicles...plus some dutch, plus some brits... when i had got in and put my tent up, i thought id go to the loo and get water for a cuppa THEN unpack, so off i set...i bumped into the dutch first who insisted on my partaking a "couple of shots" [9am ] so i did...blew my sox off ! think theyde brewed it in thier shed !! then i set off again only to meet the french guys ...yep you guessed it...WINE this time... by then id lost all navigational skills as to where the loos were !! i literally glided off like a lost soul and found em... i got my bottle of water and then couldnt remember where my pitch was ,as by now the field was just full of lorries, trucks etc...:o found it and then made my cuppa...slowly...:rotfl::rotfl: by now its 11.30  . :rotfl::rotfl:
i worked out a different route to the loos by saturday as i got caught again by the french in the afternoon on friday too...

i had lots of enquiries if i wanted to buy "great aunt hilda's handbags " etc..

one guy offered me a job lot which im gonna see if CTC wants in on...;)

right, im clean,im fed and im kernacked.
sorry if ive just woffled about myself and missed far more important news..:o

i will be here but if i disapear...iv dozed off..:D

ive got the bug now for shows again... there are some coming up in shepton mallett.... isnt that where we went CTC ?? duuurrrr...LIR i meant..
  • Right back from the ranch for tonight, BUT both hubby and I admitted we are a bit worried piggies are up there on their own:o Its like leaving your kids go to town for the first time on the bus:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Everyone passing on the footpath with their dogs have been great, except on family with a load of rotweilers and staffs:o looks as though we might have problems with them ( chavs)

so we have decided we are going to try and sleep up there a few nights during the week too..

Anyway.... back to the auction on friday..... not as many pigs there as last month.... we did want weaners, but they either ment for too much money, or they went for a £1, but they were in a sorry state, think crinkleley and back bones showing etc...

our ones were the last lot of the auction... who ever had bred/reared them, had done a good job, friendly and in very good condition...

One good thing... it has saved us a month or so of feeding etc...

Alfie.... hope it was a good weekend for you.... hope you noticed our Rhiwie... has allready started the bay challenge:p

We def need to buy a mini digger for the ranch, so I am going to try and do a double whammy challenge:eek: for work, and private account...hard going, but hayho:rotfl:

Alfie, yes, we went to the giant flea market at royal bath and west, shepton mallet.

They also do an antique one there, with a better quailty of stuff, with a better quality of prices too iirc!!!
