Something very, very odd is happening. I noticed autumnal leaves last week at the very tip tops of some trees?

Some of our trees aren't doing well at all. The Crataegus 'Paul's Scarlet' out at the front has lost half of its leaves and all the hazels are poorly too. :(

I am guessing, but knowing where the water table was a few weeks ago, and for how long, I'm guessing that waterlogging was the problem.

lucielle, damp bathrooms are often as much about ventilation as they are about insulation.

Where's the gap and are we talking ground floor, first floor, single, or double skin wall? Or is it the ceiling? I'm confused! :o

Another one here who unashamedly enjoyed last nights spectacular. As someone who worked for 33 years in a poorly-funded part of the public sector, I'm entitled to do that! :p

Re last night, i really enjoyed some of it and was left bemused by some of it and hated other bits. Beat bits were the queen, the Moths and the actual cauldron. Politically left to my personal taste, but that does not make me dislike something, i am broadminded enough to cope with that.

Ultimately it was just TOO long though, it would have been as good imo with a very heavy editing.

I missed the Queen bit, as I volunteered to lock up the hens, even though that's not my job. :A

But we have it all on our PVR, and when she who knows the mystic secrets of the remote control thingy deems it appropriate, I shall get to see that too. :)

It's the ceiling, I live in a bungalow, single glazed and usually have the window open. The roof is insulated but a small area hasn't been done due to the narrowness of it. No way you can unroll insulation.

That's us too. We have DG, the ceiling insulated, a ventilation duct to the roof and we still got mouldy patches above the shower. :(

We changed the paint, after first treating with stain blocker. We usually have the window ajar after use as well. Since doing all that, we've not had a re-occurence :)

    1. Stirrup irons on stirrup leathers
2? Liverpool driving bit ( not ace on driving bits me, but this is a fairly standard one so think my choice is right)
3 two browbands with clenchers. The other straps could be various things! Do jot know the brass things, might be 'brasses' of a sort, but way out of my area.....driving stuff really this lot too.
4? Hmm, could be various things most of those straps! The broader ones with flat ends look 'drivey' to me, again, not my area. The rolled leather ones are interesting, i see very little rolled leather, one top looks like a rolled leather browband?? Interesting indeed.

I might, might, be about to buy another horse. Its not a good finacial buy, especially as he might not be what they are advertising him as, and i have not been looking for a boy, keeping boys involves certain practicalities...

Thanks Dave, I've tried the paint and it works for a while. Trouble is there is no damp proof course and I have trouble with it all over the house.

Previously had environmental health out to try and get the landlord to do something. The officer said it was so bad we'd probably need to move out. I asked him to forget it, so still trying to sort it out ourselves.

Had hope to buy a place but everything has gone pear shaped with OH being made redundand and now I'm getting my hours cut. Not helped with the car dying.

Have been offered £975 for the car but OH is thinking about shoving it into a car auction. Really not sure what to do. Luckily DS1 is letting me use his till he passes his test. He's away shearing at the mo and will be knackered when he gets in.

    Sorry rambling again.
